Garmin Edge 200

Garmin Edge 200 GPS Cycling Computer

Bring new life to every ride with the Garmin Edge 200 GPS Cycling Computer. This GPS-enabled cycling computer tracks time, distance, speed, location and calories burned. The Edge 200 is ideal for training, everyday and touring rides or any adventure you want to relive later at Garmin Connect™ — our free website for data analysis, mapping and sharing.

Easy to Use:

We know you just want to get out and enjoy your ride without fussing over gear and electronics, so we made Edge 200 extremely easy to use. There’s no setup required — just pop it onto the included bike mount and you’re ready to roll. You even can use it on multiple bikes.

GPS-enabled:

Edge 200 features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix® satellite prediction to calculate your position faster. That means when you turn it on outdoors, it finds satellites quickly so you can get on with your ride. It also alerts you if you’re moving but the timer is not running. Edge 200 has an Auto Pause feature so it will stop the timer when you’re not moving, then restart automatically when you’re rolling again. You also can set alerts for distance, time or calories to make it easier and more fun to achieve your goals.

How Far and How Fast:

Whether you ride for fun, fitness or to feed your competitive edge, you’ll love seeing how far and how fast you rode. Having this data at your fingertips provides motivation and inspiration to keep you going. Edge 200 stores up to 130 hours of ride data and sorts your activities so you can quickly look up the fastest, longest or last ride.

Challenge Me:

Edge 200 helps you bring new life to old rides with Courses, a feature that lets you challenge your times on previous rides. A digital cyclist shows your speed relative to your past performance, along with an indication of how far ahead or behind you are. You also can download rides from other Garmin Connect users for a virtual competition.

Garmin Connect:

Join a worldwide network of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts at Garmin Connect. Once your ride is done, upload it to the site to see the path you traveled on a map, analyze it, share it and view more detail like elevation. Use Garmin Connect’s new Course Creator feature to plan new rides or convert a past activity into a Course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ottimo prodotto ad un prezzo favorevole Il rapporto qualità prezzo è stato favorevole. Le prestazioni sono soddisfacenti e conformi alla descrizione. Solo qualche volta impiega un pò troppo tempo ad agganciare i satelliti. Ma nel complesso prodotto validissimo. Garmin promette e mantiene. 03 October 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Нормальный комп Нормальный комп. Функция езды по треку вообще отличная. Но почему нельзя было сделать часы на ездовом экране. Часы вообще одна из важнейших функций в велокомпьютере. Большой минус. А так цена радует, треки пишутся. 03 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for my (limited) needs - Clear display - Has not dropped its signal yet - Intuitive - Holds charge for a good period of time - Charges quickly - All the features (and more) that I need Not used all the features yet but I'm sure I will do soon. It's great to be able to swap it between bikes or change tyres on the same bike without having to think about changing settings etc. 17 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A very easy to use GPS cycling computer Bought this product mainly for the Garmin Connect function. I wanted to view and analyze the path i took, whether by trail or by road, and save them for future reference. Calories burned shown after uploading is a plus factor as well. GPS signal worked fine after its calibration. Distance traveled is almost as accurate in comparison to the Cateye Micro wireless that I use. So I can say that I am very satisfied with the product. 06 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to set up Been using the Garmin Edge for a good few weeks now and love it. Easy set up and simple to use. No cables, sensors or magnets to fit to your bike as its all done through GPS. It's also really simple to upload your dater to the Garmin website so you can keep track of your progress. All in all a fantastic bit of kit for a very affordable price. P.S. First class service provided by Chainreaction. Thanks guys. 27 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great entry level GPS There are various GPS computers on the market in this price range and this is Garmin's offering. As you might expect from arguably the market leader in this sector it's robustly built, offers a decent array of functions and is quick and easy to install on one of the two supplied mounts. The locking mechanism is solidly designed and even on the somewhat dubious roads in my part of the world shows no sign of detaching, however, one quick twist and you can manually remove the unit in seconds. Once it's acquired a signal (takes a little longer than the 30 -60 seconds mentioned in the manual but maybe that's just the area I live in) you push one button to start timing and away you go (it actually has a function to detect movement and offers you the chance to start timing then). There are a whole slew of options to play around with, I particularly like the ability to save a completed ride as a course and then via the website add some features such as an average speed. You can then upload it back to the device and in future you can measure your current performance against whatever the benchmark you decide is appropriate. This is only a basic GPS device so the map is little more than an arrow on a line indicating direction and bearing although that's more than adequate providing you know roughly where you are supposed to be going. It also doesn't feature some of the more advanced stuff such as power meter and heart rate monitor but I'm not 100% convinced that unless you do an awful lot of cycling they have much value. The device is fully compatible with Garmin's own website and Strava so you can create your own courses there should you choose. I can't really find much to fault with this piece of kit. 24 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by functions as per description fast at getting a GPS fix, functions basic, for beginners or commuters 22 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good bit of kit Not interested in cadence or heart rate monitoring so purchased this primarily to record time, vertical ascent and distance. It does this well plus providing average times and calorie counter. Very happy with it. The auto pause is a good feature too. Easy to use as well. GPS seems very accurate when ride data added to garmin connect. 22 April 2014

Does its battery charge from USB cale or not?

I want to take this device on 3-day ride, there will be no ability to charge it via AC. Could I do this with USB cable and charge it with portable Li-Ion power bank?

It is a gps enabled device. As long as there is a satellite connection, it will work wherever you place the device. Whether on the handlebars, inside your bag, or pocket (I always forget mine whenever I need to safekeep it during breaks).

Answer:
Yes, in fact now you can link your garmin connect account to strava so when your data is uploaded to garmin it is automatically uploaded to strava. When you download a route from garmin to your edge device it will show an arrow indicating the direction you need to travel and if you go wrong an alert will beep to warn you of that fact.
