Giro Feature Cycle Helmet

The evolution of coverage and performance for long-travel trail riding. As trail riding progresses, helmets have to evolve. The Feature starts with a new shape that combines a little more coverage than traditional helmets, with vents that radiate heat up and out of the helmet; perfect for climbing at lower speeds. And when the trail drops, our rugged In-Form fit system offers one-handed fit and stability adjustment, so you can dial-in the perfect feel and stay focused on the trail ahead.

Giro Feature Cycle Helmet Features:

  • Suggested Use: All-mountain, Trail Ride, Super-D
  • Features: Adjustable moto-style visor
  • Construction: In-Mold Polycarbonate Shell with EPS liner
  • Fit System: In-Form
  • Ventilation: 12 Vents with internal channeling

Giro Feature Cycle Helmet Technology:

  • In-Mold Construction - In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows us to sculpt better ventilation systems, so In-mold helmets can be lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

Please Note: This helmet conforms to, or exceeds EU Standards only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great trail helmet I've been using the feature for almost a year. My first impression out of the box was that it looked really nice and felt very light. The fit is not 100% perfect for me but close enough. It's a tiny bit rounder than my head, but moving the front pads a little shorted this out. It's easily adjustable in many ways and fits very securely, no movement whatsoever. If you're used to breezy xc/road style helmets, well, this isn't one of them. It's significantly hotter, esp. when not at speed. It gets better when you start moving. Mind you I live in Greece and our summers can be brutally hot. It's one of the reasons I got it in white. The visor has a good range of adjustment which I tend to use in different times of the day. The straps are lightweight, comfortable and easy to adjust. It does however lack insect nets on the front vents, but adding them might have made the helmet even hotter. The pads and channeling on the forehead are vertical and may allow sweat to drip, although this hasn't been a problem for me. The white colour is actually a white/light grey/beige camo of some short, it looks very classy and shows minimum scratching after many months of trail use and several contacts with branches. 28 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable should have bought a brighter colour! A very comfortable Helmet and my first MTB one. Would recommend to anyone. My only regret after seeing others on the trails is that I didn't get one of the brighter colours! 26 August 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great helmet This is a great helmet for riders who want or need a little extra protection. The 'Feature' covers more of the head than your typical cross-country or road helmet; especially the areas just above and behind your ears and further down the back of your head. This feels a little odd at first, but adds a sense of security. Initially I wondered whether the lack of adjustment of the straps, where they meet below your ears, was an issue. However, I realised that, because the helmet sits more snuggly on your head than other mountain-bike helmets, that adjustment is not needed. This helmet's sizing seems to be consistent with other Giro helmets I have worn, however it is a little snug along the sides and would suit somebody who's head is more oval than round (or as someone on the Bike Radar forum put it more 0 than O ). My only complaint it that the outer coating scratches too easily (I have the Titanium Icon). I have only had mine a short time and already it looks like it is months old and has been used more than it has. 25 August 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome skid lid so far ive had no issues, comfortable lid and covers the back of your head like a skate lid but is light as and keeps your head really cool.while i was riding the visor smashed into a fern hanging across the trail and sliced it in two so is built pretty solid. i got yellow and it looks awesome and at this price its a sweet deal. also tippie rides with one so automatic style points 18 August 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by brilliant looking and performing The helmet looks very cool and has a snug fit that adds confidence when attempting something new. Could do with some more chin strap adjustability under the ears. Other than that I would reccomendit to those of you that want a quality, lightweight and affordable lid to keep you safe. 16 August 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Just received my helmet today. Usually wear a full face but needed a helmet for trail/all mountain riding. I'm a little disappointed. The helmet fits ok as is, but I didn't receive any extra padding with it. Not sure if that is normally included. Even adjusted properly and snug, it seems to float around a bit on my head. I also expected a tougher helmet. I wouldn't want to crash at high speeds with this thing. I guess it's decent for the price but definitely not great quality. Unfortunately, next time I'll spend the extra $100 bucks and buy the TLD A1 (if CRC ever gets them in stock). Almost wish I would have ordered the Bell instead. This one is going to the wife. 23 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very glad I tried something new I favour Giro helmets and have owned 3 xen over the years but despite this I always felt the fit and retention could be a little better. Needing a new helmet but also needing to be frugal I opted for the feature - I've got to admit I also think it's a good looking piece of kit and that helped. First thing I noticed was the weight, it's significantly lighter than my xens. Fit is perfect (medium as always) but the Feature seems to cradle my whole head, giving me a great deal of confidence in it's abilities. It never rattles or wobbles about, regardless of the terrain. I opted for the yellow/green colour - BRIGHT but I like it. Finish is first class especially considering the price range. I'd have no hesitation in buying another if need be and will probably do so if I see an especially good deal, and keep it as a spare. 15 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great year round AM and XC helmet If your looking for a helmet for all application in the dirt, this is it. Don't bother with the more expensive TLD A1 or the Urge Enduro; you won't noticed the minor weight difference, but the fit and ventilation of the feature are top shelf. The EPS molding is another example of how giro cares about function first, the same goes for the paint; no matter how many crashes and scratches my matte grey Feature doesn't show any battle-scars. Worth every dime. 04 February 2013

I really want one but I won't buy a feature unless its small, blue, which have been out of stock for a while now so I was wondering if its worth waiting or find a different store?
