Giro Monza Road Helmet

Inspired design meets the romance of the road. The Giro Monza Road Helmet is a great choice for club riders and racers who crave the svelte style and performance of race-inspired helmets. The minimalist In-molded shell is designed with the cooling power of 24 vents, making it light and cool enough for almost any conditions. And with the wide range of Super Fit™ sizes and the adjustability of Roc Loc® 5, it looks and feels like it was made just for you.

Giro Road Helmet Technologies:

  • Super Fit Engineering: Our proprietary Super Fit™ sizing system is based on “human scale factors” data and over 20 years of hand-crafting helmets to fit the best bike riders in the world. By creating helmets in 3 sizes to fit snugly and securely while also matching the human body’s form, our Super Fit sizes comfortably fit up to 98% of the world’s population, yet look (and fit) like they are custom made just for you.
  • Roc Loc® 5: This groundbreaking fit system provides unmatched comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. In addition to enhancing the fit and comfort of helmets, Roc Loc® 5 allows you to easily custom tune the fit tension and the fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand. And it’s almost 40% lighter than comparable systems too, making it the ultimate in skull-hugging luxury.
  • In-Mold Construction: The In-mold construction process permanently fuses a light-yet-durable outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing EPS foam liner, enhancing the strength of both parts. This fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, creating a one-piece ‘exoskeleton’ that allows the helmet to be lighter, more durable, and better ventilated than helmets with shells that are fastened or adhered to the liner.
  • Wind Tunnel Ventilation: Giro helmets are developed utilizing our proprietary Wind Tunnel™ ventilation system. This elaborate design combines active vents in the helmet’s shell with exhaust channels inside the helmet that thrust fresh, cool air over and around the rider’s head while forcing heat and stale air out. It’s the most effective cooling system available, and a difference you can feel every time you ride.
  • Roll Cage Reinforcement: Roll Cage™ is a light-yet-tough web of reinforcement invisibly molded inside a helmet’s EPS foam liner. It helps the helmet to hold together under impact, and provides an extra measure of strength and integrity that you’ll never notice…unless you need it.

Giro Road Helmet Specifications:

  • Fitting System: Roc Loc® 5

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Helmet I changed my helmet to Giro and I have no regrets. Great value combined with, great protection and look. 28 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I crashed hard. I just flipped at speed and smashed the back of the helmet into the concrete the Monza worked extremely well it is deformed and very badly cracked and I don't have even the slightest headache. Thankyou Giro! 20 December 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent road helmet Looks 'pro' fits well and is very effective at keeping your head cool. You'll certainly notice the difference on longer rides - I have found it far more comfortable than my old cheaper helmet and am glad I invested in a more expensive lid. Fortunately not had to test its crash protection yet but it fits well and feels sturdy enough so your head should be well cushioned from any impact. The range of colors and design look the part and stand out on the road. Get it while its at the reduced price. 30 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great price and great fit This helmet is does everything you need it to do. It looks good, feels very comforatble and is a very reasonable price. 24 September 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Parfait sauf sur l'esthétique Ce casque est excellent SAUF sur l'esthétique.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Recommended helmet Looks good, comes in an assortment of colours, lightweight on your head & not noticed in long rides. Two issues I can see, it's not particularly great at keeping your head ultra cool (not enough vents at the front) & the chin strap is not particularly aerodynamic (adjusted strap falls loose and flaps in wind), but I'm guessing if you double the price of the helmet you'll get these issues resolved. My first foray into helmets & overall I'm pleased with the goods, for the cash a very good looking helmet that'll hopefully do the job of saving your skull in an accident, recommended & even though I still feel an idiot when wearing one :) 11 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Saved my life Three weeks ago, I decided my old helmet desperately needed change, so I ordered a Giro Monza 2013. Chainreaction's delivery has become increasingly slow, so I was really lucky to get this helmet in time for the accident. Just two days ago, I was hit by a car while driving at 45 kmph. While the guy could break road traffic laws without getting as much as a scratch, I flew several meters, landed on the left side of my forhead and shoulder, and had my bare skin skid against the tarmac. The helmet broke dutifully, and I did not even get a concussion (!). My left collarbone broke, my neck got a minor injury and I have bruises everywhere but my head and spine is fine. Probably thanks to this helmet, and I am here to buy a new one. 05 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Giro Monza Helmet Just been swiped by a car at a T junction whilst doing 20mph and flung over the car bonnet. Landed on head and shoulder. Head OK but helmet took big impact and cracked. Did its job fantastically. Shoulder, ribs and arm not so lucky, Humph!!!Highly recommended. Never ride without one. 20 May 2013

Answer:
The Giro adult helmets sizings are as follows:

Small = 51-55cm
Medium =55-59cm
Large =59-63cm

So the Large should be fine for your 60cm hat size.

Answer:
Helmets only comply officially in the country in which they are sold; in this case Europe.

Chances are it will comply to Australian standards but there will be no sticker on the helmet itself to show this. Your local bike shop should be able to test the helmet to confirm compliance and source a sticker for you.
