Giro ProLight SLX Road Shoes 2011

The Prolight SLX redefines fit, feel and power-to-weight performance in a lightweight shoe. Starting with a select Teijin microfiber upper that shapes to your foot like a second skin, we added an ultralight EVA footbed plus a SuperNatural Fit Kit footbed with adjustable arch support so you can customize the fit to match your needs. At only 6.5mm thick, the high-modulus Easton® EC90 SLX outsole is exceptionally thin and light yet provides best-in-class stiffness for maximum power transfer. Titanium hardware reduces weight even further. If you’re looking for the lightest pro-level shoe without compromise, this is it.

  • Upper: Teijin AG100 ultra-light microfiber shapes to your foot; Secure, comfortable 3-strap closure system ; Offset “D-rings” made of titanium prevent pressure points and reduce weight
  • Outsole: Easton EC90 SLX high-modulus carbon for ultimate stiffness-to-weight and power transfer; Titanium hardware reduces weight without compromising durability
  • Footbed: Ultra-light EPP footbed with X-Static anti-microbial fibre, plus full SuperNatural Fit Kit with adjustable arch support system and X-Static anti-microbial fibre
  • Weight: 205 grams (size 42 with ultra-light footbed)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent shoes Bought these in white from CRC and am pleased I did. They are a very high quality product and the finish is very eye catching. I bought a size EU46 but could have possibly got a EU45.5 as my right foot is slightly smaller & it seems a tad big on that foot. However the left shoe fits like a glove & I believe I am pedalling more fluidly since I got them, and it only took 2 rides to feel really comfortable in them. I would recommend these as they are very light & stiff & the velcro wears better than buckles. I personally don't often need to adjust the straps whilst riding so I don't think buckles are necessarily better - they are just heavier & can get broken. 28 March 2012
