Goodridge cable kits feature the ultimate lightweight reinforced cable housing, and low-friction PTFE-coated stainless steel cables. The housing is constructed of a PTFE inner core with stainless steel braiding for optimum performance. The inner cables are pre-stretched for improved braking response. Goodridge kits are supplied with protective tip ferrules, designed to prevent dirt penetrating the system. The stainless steel/PTFE housing is packaged in a single length which allows the user to determine the exact length required for both the front and rear housing. Our high performance cable kits contain all the components required to upgrade your front and rear brake system, and of course Goodridge Logo tags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eddie73 Best cables I have used
I have had these fitted to my MTB for a couple of years. They are the only cables I have had which don't clog up with gunk at all. The sealed system is great.
The only 2 downsides that I can see are, the metal ferrules can snap unlike Shimano plastic ones which just deform and secondly, there is not enough outer to cover the cables if you have continual routing. If good ridge added 400mm more outer it would be ideal.
Finally, in carbon they look great and make a mundane part look a bit more special. Not important for performance but a nice finish.

Gotta say best brake cables ive ever tried theyve turned my mx4 brakes which a pretty basic into brakes that have the feel and response of hydraulics, but make sure youve got decent cable cutters or your in trouble as there tough as hell.

Super stiff cables, but that can give problems for CX bikes with secondary brake levers on the tops. I found that, because the outers are so stiff, when the secondary levers are pulled, they don't fully close. I therefore had use Shimano outers on the section from the levers to the frame. One other minor niggle for cross bikes (and potentially other bikes) is that they have road/mtb nipples on either end of the cables and you cut off the redundant one. This leaves a cut end to thread through the pipe into and round the corner of the brake cable hanger (if used) which tends to lead to fraying.
If these things aren't going to be an issue for you, they're super stiff well sealed cables that should give good, long lasting, trouble free brake performance.

The outers are simply too rigid. They only lasted 4 weeks before I had to change them all. They are difficult to cut, hard to route around the frame, very inflexible, and have a coa**e feel when you apply the brakes. No amount of grease or teflon spray will free up tin inners, and the outers are so inflexible, you would think your headset needs replacing. AVOID unless you want an upper body workout when trying to steer or stop your bike..

Firstly these are leaps and bounds better than the 2yr old cable system it replaced, it feels so good.
1)When the outer cable is cut it squashes the inner sleeve leaving no hole, so put a bit of old inner cable in it before you cut it. Then you can flick out the inner cable by gently whipping the cable in the air if it does not come out.
2)use something to widen the holes at the end such that the outer circumference also expands, this will allow the ferrules to sit on without coming off.
1) gave me twice the amount of outer cable than required, but i was putting it on a flat bar not a road bike.
2) I like the double ended inner cable so you can choose which one you want to use.
3) cable did not seem to fray as much as some others i have played with.
4) The ferrules seem to be of nice quality and the longer ferrules for slipping on the blue tube is quite long (no chance of coming off).
1) outer cable is super stiff, I had a lot of trouble getting the cable right especially the short lengths.
2) the blue protective covering sags a little so I have used some loose zip ties along the top tube to hold it in.
3) They provide good looking options e.g. carbon style, but then the protective tube for the exposed inner cable is blue (and that is the only option). And the goodridge label thing is yellow and it does not fit snugly anywhere (not that i used it)

I use it for a classic bike and works perfect, seems strong and durable. I would recommend for non suspension bikes as it is not very flexible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Muy bueno
Muy buen kit de fundas, facil de instalar, pero requiere un buen alicate de corte, ya que lleva malla metalica. Por eso tambien es bastante rigido, quizas demasiado, y hace falta darle la curva adecuada en cada sitio. Alta calidad.
