Rated 3 out of 5 by ridiculously expensive!! worth it?? There is no doubt that these are the best hydrolic hoses you can buy.. however they are also the most expensive by a long way, so are they worth it? Most of the brake hoses that you get as standard are woven fibre which means that when you squeeze the levers hard some of the hydrolic force is lost because the hoses expand, this also gives you a spongy feel to the brakes (especially the rear due to the length of hose) by changing to these you will feel that your brakes are a bit more wooden, in the way that the braking force is more linear. basicly what this means is, if your a big chap/chapess or riding a dh/heavy bike then you may feel some benifit by fitting these hoses (provided there fitted properly), if it's the pimp look your after youll probably buy them anyway and if if your neither of these then your probably wasting your money... Either way whatever you do don't buy the aluminium fittings as they are too soft and break really easily..... 23 April 2009
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too Short One quick question, why the hell is the front kit about 4 inchs too short??? The only reason I can think of for the lack of length is that it's for an XC bike. Why would you need to put this on a XC bike, it's for high performance breaking and to tolerate high temperatures. I can understand someone putting bling on the bike, but I can't fit this to my down hill bike. Yeah I hear you say get the rear kit, if I'd known the length of the front I would have. Now I have to wait at least another 5 days to get the right part and add some more for fitting and bleeding. Shot version, get 2 rear kits if you own a downhill bike. Disappointed! 18 July 2008

Rated 4 out of 5 by just bought a goodridge for the rear, not used them before and can't say for sure how good it'll be, but the hayes hose is ribbed and so can bend along any part of the length. as it did on my giant at the rear sus area, compression caused it to push the hose out and bend over time. i'm told this wont happen with the goodridge because its braided. so many good reviews cant be wrong, and they're not much more expensive than the hayes hoses - so buy a goodridge 20 May 2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by ok on average ok i would say! upsides: look PIMP, they are goodridge so super quality, they are reusable, compatable with most other hoses. DOWNSIDES: the instuctions SUCK! they arnt clear for a specific product they just skim lightly over hfxs. If you expect a maasive diffrence get new pads or leavers 24 March 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great I got one of these on the rear brake (Hayes Nine)when the old one split and its fantastic. I ordered it through my local bike shop though and they fitted it. This time i want to get it from CRC but i'm a bit confused. Can anyone tell me what the "RR" and the "FR" mean on the options list? Ta. 05 August 2007
Rated 3 out of 5 by question are the carbon hoses braided as i have just burst the hayes standard hoses? 06 June 2007

Answer:
The splitter on these brakes makes compatibility very unlikely with a Goodridge hose kit; contacting the manufacturer directly (Magura) would be advised.
