Goodridge have recently launched a hydraulic hose for use on mountain bikes disc brakes. Featuring the same hose as used on formula 1 cars, with a unique reusable fitting design, the hoses are being raved about. Currently being used by World Cup Champion Steve Peat, Cedric Gracia and Canada's number one Dustin Adams, who described it simply as 'awesome'. The MBUK review called it 'nothing short of a revolution' and scored it 10/10.
Applications: • Increased braking performance, strength, flexibility and durability means that it has applications and benefits in all areas of mountain biking including Downhill, XC, Freeride and Trials (and recumbents). Goodridge hoses are compatible with most makes and models of disc brake including Shimano, Hayes, Hope, Magura, SRAM and Grimeca. • Each kit comes complete with all necessary fittings for both ends of the cable and one long length of Hose suitable for Front or Rear use. Instructions on how to fit are included. Ends are also re-useable. • Compatible with Formula The One and Mega brakes and also pre 2005 Avid Juicy 5 and 7 models
Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good product. Lousy instructions
I needed a replacement for a crushed brakeline on my Formula RX front brakes after a minor spill. After an eye-watering quote for OEM Formula parts from my LBS, I found this kit on CRC and followed the recommendations from Trekez and Trail_Rider above. This is definitely a quality piece of kit and the lines are superior to the original Formula part, giving firmer feel and increased power without compromising the ability to modulate braking force. Recommended.
However, my recommendation comes with a big caveat. The instructions provided with the kit are frustratingly poor. There is no labelling of parts in the diagrams and the illustrations are indistinct. The instructions are also too brief and miss out important steps in the assembly. A first time user will find it necessary to trawl MTB forums for advice on how to use this product. The Goodridge website is next to useless. A 5-minute instruction video, as used by the likes of Avid, would be invaluable. For Formula RX users, you will find when withdrawing the original cable from the Master Cylinder that the fitting uses a rubber O-ring, which the Goodridge part does not have. I discovered on one of the forums that Goodridge maintain that the O-ring is not necessary with this kit. Sure enough I fitted mine without any leaks and it works fine. I Strongly recommend use of the Formula Universal bleed kit. I can't imagine the grief of trying to bleed the brakes without one. Apparently it also works with Avid brakes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Worthwhile upgrade
Good quality hose kit, as with the other reviewer I fitted 2 of these kits (front/rear) to my Formula RX's without any issue. They are a little heavier than the stock hoses as you would expect moving from plastic to braided but the few grams is worthwhile for the increase in power. That power increase is significant but importantly it doesn't compromise the feel although I have gone from 2 finger braking to 1. I found that with 2 fingers on the lever I was nearly ejected out the front but then I am quite ham fisted.
I have read a few articles on the net that seem to indicate the need for extra Formula bits to make them work but for me the parts Goodridge supplied worked fine. Would definitely recommend

A good quality cable with braded steel inner sleave. Easy to fit. I used it on my Formula RX brakes without any problems.
