Rated 1 out of 5 by Avoid - unfortunately.. As per other reviews, I have to sadly conclude the same.. Firstly, the good: These are AWESOME in terms of grip and weight. They tipped my scales at ~430g for the pair - not bad! I used to own the heavy Wellgo equivalents 'back in the day' and they did me proud until I gradually knocked the corners off.. I recently bought a pair of Wellgo Cromo versions, and the Wellgo Magnesium versions of this pedal for different bikes and they have both done me proud! These...not so much.. I bought these pedals in mid APRIL 2012 and after only a month the left started creaking.. I put as much bearing grease as I could fit into the bearings but 2 days later it was back, and only got worse.. I then decided to change the pedals back to the trusty Wellgos, only to find that the drive side pedal had seized onto the crank and had to enlist the LBS to remove it, having to twist the cage open to properly access the nut with enough leverage to remove the pedal. Needless to say, these are now in the bin, and a complete waste of money! My advice would be to step up to the Wellgo B150's and add in some extra spikey pins, or just buy the cheap Wellgo 953's!! They are a bit heavier, but will last forever and not let you down..! 19 July 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Grippy but rubbish bearings These are THE grippiest pedals ever (probably), bought them for my commute MTB in a fit of nostalgia, back in the beginning all MTBs had pedals like this. They grip like spiky glue on my winter commute boots (hi-tec magnum) but there's a BIG problem. The bearings are cack, and while they're allegedly serviceable getting at them is not easy, the holes in the side are too small to get a socket spanner through and while the cages in theory come off, i couldn't get the screws undone without mangling them. Great pedals, ruined by rubbish bearings. Oh, and they're the same as the wellgo ones that are cheaper but not black... 02 December 2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by scarey pedals Fantastic grip but bloody dangerous to the shins.Had to replace some of the bearings and regrease from new though, think the factory messed up with bearing quality. 23 November 2008
Rated 2 out of 5 by average good grip but bearings did not last as long as i would have expected 07 July 2008
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs better bearings. Very poor bearing quality from the factory. Needed adjustment and greasing straight from the box! After stripping and regreasing, it's the usual cup and cone tightening procedure. Even when regreased and properly tightened both spindles have a completely different feel to the other. Very poor quality. My 10 year old resin pedals are much smoother! Good grip though! 25 June 2008
