Other brake systems use organic friction materials in their brake pads to insulate the caliper from the heat generated during braking. Unfortunately, their performance falls off dramatically in wet conditions and they wear rapidly in dirty and muddy environments.
But Hayes developed a special frictional material for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles that provides the same positive braking…dry, wet or muddy. Plus, our non-organic pads provide longer life…especially in dirty and muddy conditions. You'll also like our quick pad change…it can be done in seconds without tools!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous if you want great pads get the alloy semi metallic.
I have the alloy semi metallic on the back and metalic on the front and after a week at Fort William on the world cup track back brake was fine but now need new pads for the front. I would only recommend the alloy semi metalic pads.

Best pads I have ever brought. Ran the mega-avalanche week with these. It is April 2010 and I have only just changed them. Worth the money! Good performance and great life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Great Pads!
These pads lasted over 1000km, all off road in Irish conditions and we haven't had a summer in years!! If these wore down quickly for other people they must not have bedded them in properly or were unlucky to get a bad pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Lasting squeal
Having ridden for two weeks in the steep swiss alps I can say that these brakes last a long time and are very effective but I found that they squeal very badly badly when the rotors get too hot or the descents too steep.
