EnergyGel is smooth with a light consistency and a dash of real juice for a great taste. It’s not thick or overly sweet. Easy to open and swallow, each sachet contains 23g of carbohydrate. EnergyGel is award-winning and proven in many of the World’s toughest competitions.
Which High5 gel to choose: EnergyGel or IsoGel? Both types of gel do the same job. However, IsoGel has a lighter consistency somewhere between a drink and a gel. EnergyGel has a slightly thicker consistency, but is less bulky and lighter in weight, which makes it easier to carry in larger quantities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by patacon Orange flavor : excellent gel
I ve got a box of orange flavor and used them for alpinism, high altitud climbing, and also long routes on road bike. Always with excellent results. Good car bos with a flavor that will not irritate your stomach or be unpleasent to taste.
Sachets are also quite solid , which is important in mountaineering so you dont blow them out unexpectedly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous The best I've tried
I was rather against the idea of gels for a long time, but bought a sample Race Pack to give them a go. Have to say I'm converted. Easy open, easy to consume, easy to digest, nice release of energy. There isn't much difference in the flavours... they all have a caramelized taste with a hint of whatever it's supposed to be. I like all of them. I've tried some other gels since, there may be an advantage in some situations of a thicker gel or bigger packet if cal/ml is an issue, but they just aren't as good. If I'm out running I'll use a bottle of 4:1 and 2 gels/hr.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Liquid not Gel
I'm not too keen on energy gels and much rather bars, but on a 238K ride, needs must... The gel's don't taste too bad in fairness, nothing like the strong taste you get from the Powerbar equivalents. One note is that these are very liquid as opposed to a gel / syrup. A strength / weakness depending on your situation. However, I would choose these over the PB going forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Very good, with intended purpose in mind.
These are really good at doing what they're designed for, they provide a 20ish minute boost with a 5ish minute digestion time. There's no dramatic low after your 20 minutes are up either which is essential. Neither Torx or the GO SIS stuff sit well in my stomach but these do although that's probably personal, I also think the Citrus Blast tastes like lemon and sawdust but it is palatable and goes down easy enough.
These shouldn't be your main ride fuel (they're too expensive to be whacking down 6-7 a ride). They just provide a little kick if you're at the end of a hard ride or just before a vicious climb - always worth having 2-3 in your jersey pocket. For a main ride fuel it's best to have something like the 2:1 energy powder that you mix in with a bottle of water, about £12 for a 1kg drum (20 servings), and at 1 serving a ride it works out much cheaper than relying on these to keep you going.
