Tired of re-tightening your headset? So are we. To combat this common problem we have produced an engineered solution. Two aluminium wedges simply pull together and expand inside any 1.1/8 steerer giving you a solid thread to pull the stem down. Sounds simple? It is. This is topped off with a laser engraved, anodised aluminium cap and aluminium bolt.
NOTE, Before use take apart and grease all if the internal threads and surfaces that have to slide against one another (NOT the surface that will touch the inside of the steerer!), failure to do this will make it feel tight before it is. This makes it tempting to tighten even more, this is a light weight alloy bolt, it will snap if over tightened. Grease threads and surfaces and it will be fine.
Hope Hed Doctor Headset Adjuster Specifications:
Expandable to 26.6mm
To fit 1.1/8 steerer tubes
Laser etched top cap

Rated 5 out of 5 by Captainslow Great product, my Pike steerer didn't like the o-ring though
Simple and easy to use, and avoids the hassle of hammering starnuts in and worrying about whether they are concentric. The only downside was that I found the o-ring outer diameter to be slightly to large for my rockshox pike forks. It still went in and clamps correctly but the o-ring was damaged in the process.

I replaced the stem on my bike which must have had a fractionally higher stack height than the previous one. This must've over tightened the star-fangled nut and my stem began to loosen on a bike that loves speed and manuals! I replaced the nut easily in minutes and I've had no quibbles with this or any Hope product - genius! It stays tight too.

Super qualité, montage relativement simple et permet un ajustement précis. bien plus facile a retiré que les model standard. permet en plus d assurer l étanchéité de la vis du bouchon.

It works, but i needed to take the rubber O ring off the outside, so it would fit in my RockShox steer tube, other than that, a top product, from a top British brand. (as long as you follow the instructions)

Rated 5 out of 5 by rigedup very good
the problem with this i've found is that the two tapered bits above and below the barrel if you like need to be slack because if they are not you are going to have problems ie-hammering it in so what i did was slacken them off and squeeze the barrel so that it went a frction smaller so i could get in, then with an allen key push it down but i then had the problem of tightening it because the tapered bit below the barrel was too loose and wasnnt engaging on the thread so i stuck a thin peice of wood up the forks to push it up then tightened it- that did the trick, then put the top cap and bolt on and tightened it up but not too much done the stem up and was solid!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben92 Great product easy to install
What you expect from hope a well engineered bit of kit and I agree with others is easier to install than a star nut but the rubber takes some encouragement to go in but altogether great hope product can't fault it

Rated 5 out of 5 by Timber69 Way better than a star nut.
So much easier to install than a star nut and very solid when fitted. The star nut is just a bolt and two flimsy flowers of metal banged into your steerer at a funny angle. You've had your day Mr star nut make way for the Hope head doctor!! :)
