Hope Tech X2 Evo Caliper Disc Brake - Front

Hope Tech Evo Lever:

Tthe lever pivot has been slightly shortened which translates to a 15% increase in power. The Tech Evo lever now has a roller fitted to the cam mechanism, further enhancing the smooth feel of the lever. Ambidextrous "flip flop" design, CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy - with a split clamp to allow easy set up and choice of positioning. Redesigned piston, lever and pivot assembly with external "on the fly" reach and bite point adjustment dials. The lever linkage eliminates freeplay in the lever giving a consistent and reliable feel to the brake. Further developments include bearing lever pivots for smooth, rock free use and increased lever ergonomics with a perforated lever for extra grip and feel. Also, a double sided reservoir lid makes for easy bleeding. The brake is supplied with a choice of either hi tensile polyester reinforced or Goodridge stainless steel braided hose.

Hope X2 Caliper:

This neat, slimline caliper optimises the very latest COSMOSWorks FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software to reduce unnecessary weight, improve aesthetics and create a high performance partnership with the Tech Evo Lever. The caliper is machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy and an increased piston diameter, generating more usable braking force on the rotor. A drip free bleed nipple and wide angle orientation of the fluid inlet connector have also been added, allowing for neater hose routing and cleaner servicing.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful, consistent, reliable, adjustable, servicable - altogether outstanding Carries on where the old Mono Mini left off - but even better. Everything a brake of this type should be. Easy to set up, very reliable. Powerful for its size and spec - one finger braking is easy. Absolutely consistent in feel and performance. Tech lever adjustment works well. Can't think of a bad thing to say about them. Designed and made in UK - support UK manufacturing! 02 November 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent stoppers Used with 180mm rotor. Brake has excellent stopping power. Even & controllable modulation. used on trails- up to black runs. Looks cannot be faulted. Easy to fit. 11 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great brakes but not for downhill I have X2 brakes on front and back on my AM bike. Love the modulation and all adjustment options the brakes have. The bite and lock is absolutely perfect, but when the hills start to get really steep they get warm. On my setup i run 183mm saw rotors on front and back, and the brakes are perfect. If something brakes you can buy every tiny bits on the brakes new and fix them. 06 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great modulation Excellent modulation in this brake. Absolute power is not up there with the M4 (as to be expected), but when used as a rear brake with the M4 in the front, the system works well. Very well. 06 August 2013

Yes, they'll work fine paired with 160mm discs, particularly well if you choose Hope's own Saw floating rotors!
