The vented rotor is available only for the Tech V2 brake. It is not retro fitable to the other brakes in the range or aftermarket to other brands. It is wider than a standard fixed or floating rotor. This rotor takes braking performance to a new level. Using the same proven floating design as our other rotors and advanced manufacturing techniques, the internal fins allow the air to flow between the two friction parts. The induced air flow significantly reduces and delays the heat build up in the rotor. Dyno tests show a difference in temperature of 15% between a standard floating rotor and a ventilated floating rotor. The rotor also gives a better and more consistent braking performance in wet condition thanks to its capability to clear the water layer through the fins. If you want to abuse your brake in endless descents this rotor is for you.
Hope Disc V2 Vented Disc Brake Rotor Features:
CNC machined and laser cut in Barnoldswick, England
Proven floating design (internal air fins allow the air to flow between the parts)
Better braking in the wet
Designed to fit the MOTO V2 Brake

Look sweet, wont warp or overheat like standard rotors but do cost ar fair bit, I think they are worth it and to the guy who said 'if any thing they slow you down' well...they're disk brake rotors, that's the point

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous surely they are better... c'mon think about it, the amount of extra air flowing through the disk and extra surface area is going to keep these rotors a lot cooler... with any pads, especially soft racing pads the performance and life span is lowered as the disk, followed by the pads overheat. fairly standard issue in most kinds of motorcycle racing and have been for years with proven benifits. 200 lines on the blackboard please, "i will not mouth off about subjects to which i know nothing about" ... dunce ...

As soon as I saw these brakes on a bike i wanted them! They are simply the pimpest looking rotors around! I have used them on various DH tracks over the last year and also in the Alps where they really come into there own, getting rid of the terrible overheating problems the other Hope rotors really suffer from over there.
Yes the price is crap, but the performance and look is awesome! Just remember to remove your discs from the wheel if flying. Easyjet threw my bike all over the place, breaking my bike bag and bent one of my rotors. NEVER FLY EASYJET!

I have used in the Alps and at several DH tracks in the UK and they are great. I do not know what the first few reviewers were on but these are great stopping power. Your arms will be pumped before these things fade!
When we were in Les Getz one of group ( big bloke ) had no end of trouble - popped a set of these puppies on - problem solved.
So if you are not Steve Pete and hardliy touch your brakes but are like me and need to stop at any moment get these!

I don`t know what`s wrong with the other reviewers but I have to say these rotors are awesome, maybe the other reviewers are not pushing them hard enough to see or feel the difference.
Other than the obvious benefits of cooler running disk, pads, reduced chance of fade, it just makes common sense these will perform better than the same solid disk.
As for the price, OK it`s high but what do you expect considering it`s the only system to use a ventilated disk. You pay for the technology and performance gains.
I would recommend them if you want the best in MTB brakes.
