The self-contained Vision 1 LED offers a neat, simple, yet high powered option for commuters, riders on training runs and those needing a versatile light with options that make it useful in many cycling disciplines, or just simply as a hand held torch.
The new improved 1 LED lamp for 2012/2013 features an upgrade to the latest LED technology from Cree. Lumen output has been increased by approximately 35% to 215 (measured) lumens without any reduction in battery life when compared to the previous model. This provides enough light to illuminate the road in front of you, be seen and if using it as an ancillary light, help to find your way around the campsite or the depths of your hydration pack.
The fully re-designed drive circuit now features a new low battery warning mode to alert the user approximately 30 minutes prior to the shutdown of the lamp. Operation is controlled via a simple on/off/mode switch on the top and is programmed to turn the light on in low mode and cycle through to the higher settings, giving better control of the light in tricky situations when more light is needed quickly.
The lamp is available as a stand-alone unit or (new for 2012/2013) as a Hope branded set which includes 4 high performance rechargeable 2500mAh NiMH AA battery cells and a fast charger – everything you need to get straight out on the dark roads or trails.
Hope Technology is proud to have teamed up with battery producer Ansmann Energy to select the most suitable battery cells for the 1 LED lamp. The high capacity cells from their highest performance range with the added benefit of being pre-charged, ready to use, and very low self-discharge rates are the perfect battery solution for the 1 LED lamp. The LED drive circuit has been optimised for use with these battery cells to deliver stable, repeatable performance with the highest possible burn time (see table), so we highly recommend purchasing the complete set with lamp, batteries and charger. Hope branded packs of 4 x 2500mAh NiMH battery cells are also available as a separate item, should you require additional sets to carry as back-up batteries. This makes the 1 LED lamp an ideal choice for cycle touring or off-road endurance events where mains power charging is not a viable option.
The CNC machined lamp body mounts to the reinforced nylon handlebar bracket, which fit’s both standard and OS bars with the clever use of removable rubber plugs. The bracket also allows for lateral adjustment of the lamp whilst riding.
As well as the universal handlebar clamp, a helmet mount and wrist lanyard are also included. This makes the light truly adaptable. Perfect for bikers, outdoor enthusiasts and people looking for a high quality, high powered light for other nocturnal activities!
Note: Although it is not essential that the lamp is purchased with our recommended 2500mAh NiMH AA cells and charger, we do advise that only high quality high capacity NiMH batteries are used. If low quality batteries are used they may not be able to sustain the high current drain of the lamp unit and possibly even cause the lamp to shut down without warning. We recommend testing any other batteries to ensure they are capable of providing a sustained and adequate run time prior to using the lamp out on the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrBoynton Massise Improvement on my old lights
I bought this to do more early morning rides in winter, the light produced is amazing, but my previous lights were $50 Cateyes, so I was going to be impressed I suppose. It is quite big and with 4 batteries, quite heavy, but I think its great. Easy to remove light and bracket all in one go when not in use, better then leaving brackets on the bike I think?

Rated 4 out of 5 by craggybend Its very very good, but!
I needed a present for my nephew, so I bought him one of these, was so impressed by the build, easy of use and light strength, when it was my turn for a pressie I asked for one of these. You cannot fault the build quality, I suspect it will last for years. The light is powerful enough to use on dark, muddy, cow infested lanes to avoid all mishaps.
However, my nephews went into melt down literally, don't know why and it was replaced very quickly and without a fuss.
You have to have a neck like a front row prop forward if you want to use it on the helmet, it is heavy, I wear glasses and even with the helmet tightened up fully I still managed to bruise my nose where the weight of the lamp thumped the helmet into the bridge of my nose.
The screw holding the plastic mount onto the lamp case can work its way lose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nightmare

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thorno58 Great light.
These lights are great. I picked one up at a clearance price. This is a newer version to the original vision one. The casing seems smaller and lighter. The light is a lot brighter. Battery life seems better.
Great light very well made.
Need to try it head mounted. Does add abit of weigh to helmet but not test ridden it yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jammyguy good quality but very poor battery life
had this for two weeks now and going to send it back because using standard aa batteries it doesn't last very long at all wouldn't recommend for commuting when you put the light on and forget about it until it goes dead not what you want at all. insane quality of workmanship as usual from hope but it should of been made to fitt the longer style 3.7v li-ion batteries as there are rechargeable and about double the energy/ life span.

la qualité Hope se paie certes, mais l'efficacité sur le terrain est au rendez-vous quelque soit l'intensité choisie en fonction de la luminosité ambiante. Fixation sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Not cheap but possibly everlasting
Brought one of these 4 years ago and ok you can get much brighter units for your money but Vision 1 this is realy well made, handilly takes AA batteries and survived years of abuse, until......my bro borrowed it for a long distance winter charity ride; after complete submersion in a flood and being left with a leaking battery it unsurprisingly died. I sent it back to hope to see if it was repairable and heard nothing back until this morning when it arived back compelte with new circuit board, battery pack and invoice for £0.00!
