The Intruder is a downhill specific tyre, which features wide spacing between knobs to aid the rapid clearance of mud and provide excellent traction in the hard pack sections of a wet course.
Intense Tyre Systems DH Intruder Folding Tyre Features:
LSG Casing - Low Specific Gravity is an all NEW rubber compound which has been introduced to reduce overall tyre weight by 18% without affecting the tyres performance or durability. All ITS tyres are now compatible with tyre sealants.
1 Ply Casing - 1 ply tires are constructed with a single layer for fast rolling and lightweight tires
Folding Bead - By using strands of Aramid Kevlar fibers in the bead the weight of the tire is reduced and the tire can be folded.
Compound - DUAL C3 Centre with Sticky Rubber Sides (C3/SR/C3)
PFB - Pinch Flat Bumper is a lightweight foam-like chemical added between the bead and the tread to reduce chances of pinch flatting.
C3 - Intense's original and proprietary Cross Country Compound, featuring excellent traction and durability. The formula is still kept secret.
Sticky Rubber (SR) - Intense's original Sticky Rubber compound is made with a soft 50a durometer but more importantly with very slow rebound.
Weight: 1200grams (2.35")

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bri73 Excellent dh tyre
Got this to use for winter dh here in the uk. Using on the front and where there's a good mix of slop, roots and loose rock this is an excellent choice. Not quite a spike but the lugs penetrate, don't clog too bad and grip better on the roots than a spike. First impression was the tyre looked a bit hard and plasticky but it's actually a soft compound. Might leave it on all year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by dt5266 Great Mud Tyre - Excellent Grip
Used for the first time last night,
easily climbed over wet roots
made deep mud sections look easy
Followed other bikes and where they span out these just dug through
Downside - on a slight downhill found myself peddling where I used to free wheel
On road they vibrate - like tractor tyres
But show them mud, sand and they love it. The faster you go the more grip you get
Show them a corner and it sticks even at angles
Fantastic winter tyre.
Note - the sidewalls are thick, really thick - putting them on is a struggle even though they arent a wire bead - they feel like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Best i had so far.
I use these tyres on wet rocky trails & over wet roots.
It has very good control, sticks down and doesn't slip at all. Very good mud clearance.
It is one of the best tyres i had so far.

I have never seen such amazing quality tyre.
38psi was best for me (80kg rider weight). Overall, very good performance in wet but in dry conditions also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Super Wet/soft conditions tyre!
I have the 2.5 tyre in kevlar bead. Much easier to put onto the rim than the wire bead and a tad lighter. Super grip on wet/soft conditions. Also ideal for muddy trails with lots of rocks/roots where a full spike tire would struggle. On full dry trails better switch tyres as this rolls slower but way better than a full spike (if you happen to come across mixed conditions). Highly recommend this tire! Much better than Muddy Marys or Swampthings in wet/mud/rocks/root condtions.

I am riding intense tyres for a while but this tyre is amazing. I've got the intruder in 26x2,5 and this is enough for the extremest downhill tracks. The tyre is even better than the old intruder because of less weight and more grip. This tyre is unbeatable. The best that intense has ever produced. The grip is better in comparison with the best maxxis or schwalbe tyres that made for downhill riding. The intruder is great in the wood, even if its wed or muddy. And also acceptable if the dh course is dry. For me is it the best allround tyre that has its starches in bad weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous It's good
It's a good tyre for what it's intended. For soft/wet conditions, where aggressive lugs are required, but where a spike tyre would be too aggressive. The tire uses a 50 duro rubber, which offers a great balance of very good traction and reasonable wear life. Keep in mind that the intense tires are all folding bead, but I've never had a problem with them. Also, while they are 2 ply, they lack the additional butyl insert near the bead, like with Maxxis. However, pinch flat resistance seems to be at least comparable to Maxxis 2 plys.
