Rated 5 out of 5 by 0LLYF Very comfortable
Ordered size XL for size 34 waist they are not to tight and not baggy do not notice I am wearing them.
Provides extra comfort when sat in the saddle. plus hip and lower back protection.
Do not smell bad and do not make you sweaty even after wearing them for many rides, eventually hand washed them and dried quickly. Hand washed 4 times now and do not show signs of wear or stretch

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Expensive but worth it. Very comfortable as a cross country short with the added reassurance of hip and tail bone protection. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous good protection but very small sized
I normally wear size medium marks and spencer briefs. I bought XL following the advice from other reviewers, but I still struggled to get them up my legs. I know body armour needs to be tight but the sizing is way out. The manufacturing quality however seems to be good. The padding hugs the top of the pelvis and the hip bone area so it should give good protection in a crash. The air flow mesh and vent holes should prevent things for getting too sweaty.

I'm 34" waist and 6'. PRetty average kind of size. Order M, then L and finally XL which are still tight fitting but ones I've shoe horned them on (!) they fit nicely and I don't notice them on. Padded, warm and comfy.

having read the former comments, I ordered them in XL though normally i wear L size... and that was good. fits still tight, but that`s OK as (of course) they cannot be as flexible as lycra shorts and shall not buckle also. very good and firm chamois, so these shorts can be recommended for CrossCountry use. at the moment, I can´t give a statement regarding durability, but manufacturing quality looks OK.
one weak point, the reason why I didn´t give them five stars: if I compare the position of the pads to my thigh bone surgery scar, it looks like the pads should better be attached about an inch backwards.

I bought the mediums as they were on offer from CRC and I wear a 32" waist trouser/jeans. I could hardly even get these shorts over my legs, let alone feel comfy in them. I wanted to try the large but they weren't on offer so I sent them back for a refund. The shorts themselves felt quite good, not too bulky and a nice tail bone pad. They also had a nice chamois pad. I recommend checking the IXS website for their sizing chart before ordering as they come up VERY small for the stated size

Photo's don't show the tail bone pad but its there. Chamois has some extra padding as well. Compression fit will stretch a little. Hand wash only but they dried overnight no problem. Pads are in the right spots( Crash tested). Flexible enough for All-Mountain and maybe some XC riding.
