Excellent shifting performance, amazing stainless finish, and long lasting. Plus, it comes with missinlink, allowing you to split the chain whenever you want with your fingers. And believe me, it never splits by itself. Best cost/quality ratio.

I have had 2 of these chains and just ordering my third. Mint chains....the chap that had a part worn cassette, it's not the chain it's your cassette. It's best to change both the chain and cassette.
These chains have never snapped on my yet. Much better than xtr chains which do snap.

I bought this after deciding that the gold version was just too expensive to replace every 3 months. I liked the performance and longevity of the gold chains, so I figured that what with being essentially the same except for the coating and price this would be a good buy. I put it on a SRAM cassette which had only been though one chain so far, and the previous chain had been changed when at 75% wear. It started slipping as soon as I put it on. As with a previous review, I decided that it must be fussy when put on partly worn cassettes. So I fitted a new cassette and started again. Word of advice: wash the sticky grease off completely before fitting and replace it with proper lube. Shifting was on a par with the gold and ti chain, and far superior to SRAM and Shimano chains I have tried. The weight is also good, with drilled/machined out sections on the male link. But beware, dirt gets stuck in these slots easily, and instantly neutralizes any weight loss in addition to looking crap. After being irritated by an absence of bike storage at a campsite and leaving my bike outside, overnight, in the rain, with a fully lubed drivetrain, (something I have done with the gold chain without any issues), I found it in the morning with little specks of rust covering all of the links. This never happened with the more expensive chain, so I can only assume that the hype about the ti and gold coating fending off oxidisation is true.
Pros: Light, Durable, Cheaper than the gold one, Looks good
Cons: Clogs with dirt, Doesn't agree with partly worn cassettes, Rusts easily (by comparison)

As can be seen I have already posted about how great these chains are. Just to say that the last chain has lasted me over 2 years, riding at least 12 miles every week day on the commute, so has put up with salt and other grime found on roads. Along with the commute it has been offroad plenty also. Unfortunately the time has come to replace the chain as there is a small amount of stretch. I just looked back to when I last replaced it and was surprised. This shifts just as well as the ti version (I have owned both), it's really just up to how you want your bike to shine, but the coating does wear off after a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous excellent, read this..
if you get ghost shifting or slippage like the guy from australia at the bottom of the page, you've probably got the quick link upside down- flip it around and it should work like a dream. try this before you replace the cassette..

Hello, I bought this KMC chain and I love it! Very nice looking chain, the gear change is smooth through the sprockets and what a difference a chain can make on a bike. I did like the chain so much that I bought another 1 as a spare, it cant go wrong at this price (£24.99 a bargain!), fast delivery, great service as usual, THANK YOU CHAIN REACTION
