Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous Nice shape. Finish lets it down
This is the first "wide" bar I've owned so I don't have much to compare this with, but the shape seems really good and the bar looked great when I unpacked it. What I really, REALLY don't like about the bar are a couple of things. Firstly, the finish is ridiculously easy to damage. The graphics peel off like a scratch card and I've taken the paint clean off in a few places, simply while setting up the c**kpit of my new Ragley... and I'm an experienced mechanic and bike builder! Also, it has no central graded markings whatsoever (and even the decorative graphics get stripped off within a few small adjustments!) so setting it up is extremely difficult, but noting your chosen settings for future reference is impossible. These are major shortcomings if you like to tinker with your set up as much as I do. I think the bar flexes quite a lot as well, but as I have nothing similar to compare it to, it's perhaps not particularly fair to judge it on this. Go for the shot-peened version if you're buying this bar - the finish should be more robust. But even then, the lack of central markings knocks it down to a 3-star product for me.
