Rated 5 out of 5 by KennyG Perfect for those wet n wild rides
I've seen these over the years but never thought about buying until now, I ride mainly urban in all weathers all year round and found road grit can get into the bottom bearings on headsets during bad weather, only had this a couple of weeks but very surprised just how much road rubbish it keeps out.

Rated 2 out of 5 Simple and would prob work, but doesn't fir 1.5" tubes.
The idea seems good, but unfortunately it doesn't fit round a 1.5" part of the headset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Easy To Fit
Not sure if this works too well, but as another reviewer points out that after a pretty muddy ride and you take it off, there is a strip of clean paintwork underneath. We all know water can find its way into pretty much anywhere, and take small enough particles of dirt and debris with it causing friction damage. For the sake of 2.49 and avoiding possible damage, whats the harm in having one?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous i use these on all my bike (all 1 1/8" headsets) i have no issue about them moving about or slipping. its great on my commuter used every day along tow path that often floods and gets covered in river silt (very gritty stuff). the guy with the "postgrad degree in material science" never explained the disadvantages of this product it just a bit of extra protection and one of my bikes the cables sit right on it so they can stop cable rub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Сойдет для сельской местности
Купил эту накладку для защиты рулевой при езде зимой. Защищает нормально, только за полгода вытянулась и потеряла форму. Но пока еще держится.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous This will NOT stretch around the new 1.5" standard, if like me you thought it might!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous useful piece of kit
Its difficult to prove that these do or don't work, but as others have said, it certainly won't hurt, and when you take it off after a long messy ride, you can usually see some sort of witness mark where it was, suggesting that it keeps the dirt out pretty well.
Certainly cheaper than a new headset!
