Rated 5 out of 5 by The best - A melhor De todas as suspensões que já utilizei no MTB XC, é com absoluta certeza que a Manitou R7 foi e continua sendo a melhor. Utilizava a MAnitou R7 Pro 2011 e agora adquiri a R7 MRD 2013, top d+. Of all the suspensions I've ever used in MTB XC, with absolute certainty is that the Manitou R7 was and remains the best. Manitou R7 used the Pro 2011 and now got the R7 MRD 2013, top d +. I will try to take the white version of this one! 16 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best fork i ever tried! I am very disapointed that Manitou forks are too under-rated! This R7 is such a good fork, i really don't know what to write here. I was riding a Rock Shox Tora 302 for some time, and jumped on my new bike (that had a R7), you could emediateley feel the difference in weight (before you even started, just lift the front end...you'll know what i meant). I was on a gravel/XC like fire road, that what really wavey (like a little precise wave every 50cm...like a human made them) and with the Tora, it jsut jumped like crazy, my hands hurt and my head was ready to fall of cuz of the vibration. But the moment i went with the R7, maaaaaan i remember that feeling like it was 5min ago... all i can say is, i came! The R7 went trough the waves like they even weren't there, no head or hand shake what so ever. so light, so perfectly working. If you gave me a $2000 Fox or Rock Shox, i would probably still go with the R7... It just sooo fine made. (and the kinky blue steerer isn't half bad too) The only flaw i found was that it has a tiiiiiny bit of flex (so i don't know how would it react on 100kg riders) But great for all in all, when i'll be making a new bike, i will try to take the white version of this one! 02 February 2012

Answer:
While many (most) 26" MTB forks will accept a 650b wheel with a narrower tyre, it is the frames that are often more of an issue. You would be advised to use a 650b specific frame and fork, to avoid any unwanted/ negative changes in geometry or handling.
