Mavic Zxellium Elite

Zxellium pedal enables maximum power transfer with an exclusive float system that perfectly respects the riders body.

Features:

  • The iClic technology and its carbon spring allows the easiest step in and out.
  • The Zxellium Elite makes all those features available to a broader audience.
  • Weight: 225g

Technologies:

  • Effortless Engagement - iClic The retention system remains open when the cleat is not engaged. When engaging, the pressure effort is reduced to minimum. When releasing the cleat, the retention system automatically locks back in the open position.
  • Extra Wide Contact Area - 700mm² Extra wide cleat /pedal support area and cleat / shoe contact area, thanks to oversized pedal body plate. The body plate is user replaceable to maintain a perfect foot support over time.
  • Minimum Stack Height Minimum distance between the feet and the axle allows rounder pedal strokes and negates the effect of tilting movement.
  • Lateral and Angular Float Mavic Pedals offer an angular float of 10° (5° in each direction), but also goes further by being the only pedal also offering a self lateral adjustment of the foot on the pedal (Q factor). Users can adjust the feel of float, from free to move to locked in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrendous Cleat Wear. Aesthetically an improvement on the cheaper range of time pedals and very lightweight. The problem I have experienced is that one of my pedals does not fall into position so that I sometimes have to fumble around to engage it . I assumed the bearings would loosen up a little over time and correct the situation but this has not been the case. Which leads me to believe it is more a weight distribution problem with regards to the platform. They are extremely comfortable on long distances and the wider platform is certainly an improvement over the original design. Engagement on the whole is very easy but cleat wear borders on 'Always on my mind'. In the two months of use, I have gone through 2 sets of cleats and I can quite easily see myself buying at least another two pairs before the year end. At which point I will give up the Ghost on these. Notwithstanding the excellent engagement mechanism and weight properties, unless you have a sizeable consumables budget, give these a wide berth. 27 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pedal Excellent pedal, very well made with the usual high quality I have come to expect from Mavic. The axle and bearings are a lot tighter than Look Keo's and also feel a lot smoother as well. I will be using these pedals a lot more over the next few weeks and will add to this review then. 18 December 2013

Yes, these pedals (and all our clipless pedals unless specifically stated otherwise) are supplied with a set of matching cleats. The Mavic pedals have 10 degrees of lateral float (5 degrees in each direction).

Answer:
The pedals do come with cleats and they have 10° angular float, aqnd 2,5mm lateral float. They are a good pedal which gives a lot of support but the cleats wear out really quickly so if you have to walk in your shoes before reaching the roadside they won't last long. Apart from the cleat wear issue I love these pedals.

Answer:
The pedals come with a set of cleats. Angular floats is 15 degrees. Excellent for the knee joints and this does not affect disengagement which has to be deliberate.
