Maxxis Advantage MTB Tyre

The ADvantage is a high-volume, aggressive cross country tire that corners great on big side knobs. It also climbs and brakes with authority, thanks to the opposing parallelogram center tread design. Ramped center knobs keep rolling resistance minimal, and the wide lug spacing sheds mud easily.

  • Opposing parallelogram center tread
  • Aggressive side knob
  • High-volume casing

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tyre! Great tyre and performs well in mud with great grip. Good on more rocky trails giving confidence and a more satisfying ride. 15 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good For this price it's a pretty good tire. It's not the most reliable one, for I've noticed it gives in a little when cornering. But once you're familiar with its limitations, it's not that big of a problem really. Durability remains to be seen. Tested on asphalt, light snow, and sharp gravel. No punctures so far. Will continue using it as a winter rear for now. 22 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Useful all round winter tyre for rear A 2.1 worked well as an all round tyre on the rear during a wet winter week in the Dales coping with pretty much every type of wet trail. Finds enough traction climbing grass, hardpack, gravel and mud, and is fine on fast descents too. As a bonus it rolls well on the tarmac. Can't vouch for it on the front though. 02 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lightweight, fast rolling For fast trails without massive rock gardens this is a good tyre. 16 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent Love these. Nice large volume. Plenty of grip. Nothing bad too note. work well in dry and wet conditions. 31 October 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unpredictable I hate to rain on the parade but when I crank this tyre over it washes out. On the front it can be lethal & again on the rear I am chasing my tail. O.K they are great in the dry but wet ground is worrying. Its a personal thing for sure but the Ardent gives more feedback before it goes. 10 October 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ace tyre Really good all conditions tyre. Fast grippy and reliable. Just experiment with the pressures for best results. 05 March 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional A truly great all round tyre that is fast and confidence inspiring. I find that its grip is better than my high rollers and definately better than my Ardents regardless of what the magazines say. The trouble with riding in the U.K is that even on a "dry-summers-day" you still hit wet sections of trail...usually round a corner and at speed. The advantage handles this in an inspiring and confidence building way. Rolling resistance is very good as is durability. A must on the front! 20 April 2011
