Alison Dunlap designed the ADvantage as a high volume aggressive cross country tire that corners great on big side-knobs. It also climbs and brakes with authority thanks to the opposing parallelogram center tread design. Ramped center knobs keep rolling resistance minimal and the wide lug spacing sheds mud easily.
Maxxis Advantage XC Wire Tyre Specifications:
Opposing parallelogram with aggressive side knob

Rated 3 out of 5 by xLopez Neumático correcto para enduro, aunque algo ligero
Lo utilizo para la rueda trasera. Tiene un agarre y facilidad de rodadura correcta. El peso también es bueno pero esto hace que sea facil pinchar en terrenos rocosos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrTrail Best tyre for the money!
I have tried a lot of brands. I always return to this tyre. The reason other people are disappointed could be that this tyre is 70A. I always buy the 60A version. I rely on it long into the autumn. Very grippy in most conditions. It is not fair to compare to Minion for instance. That is a DH tyre which almost doesn't roll on flat ground. The only downside to the Advantage is the sidewalls which wear out fast. But that could be due to the fact that I run the tyres on 20PSI. But hey, what a grip!

After reading so many rave reviews I thought these would be good for my xc riding and commuting to work.
Good points; rolling resistance is really good, able to run high and low pressure, good puncture resistance, cheap.
Bad points; Grip!?! Where is it!? So many wash outs, locking both wheels under heavy braking, I really can't push my riding like I did on my previous tyres. There are trails I ride daily, and I know what I can do, when I put these tyres on, I was instantly thrown into a world of uncertain cornering grip and my normally fun fast trails became sketchy and making me think I'd forgotten how to ride!
I've used these in various conditions and just find them terrible! I don't normally do many reviews but I felt so let down by these.
I do ride fairly aggressively and my main aim is fast as possible.
I could only recommend these for light xc riding.
Braking is poor, cornering is poor and they sap confidence like no other tyre I've experienced.
After a month I've replaced with minions which are so much better

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vulcano491 Ottimo all-round

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good all round performance
First used @ Winter warmer, Kielder forest, then Whinlatter Challenge, wet & dry conditions performed well. Front feels bit loose when pushed on sections @ Hamsterley Rear keeps plugging away in mud snow & dry

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Orange 5 for 2 years
Ive had these on my orange Five for two years riding 3 times a week, never had one puncture! Unlike my continental and schwalbe tyres! Loads of grip, in the winter i put a high roller or minion on the front for extra front wheel grip but leave the back free to squirrel around, its so much fun. Best tyres ever, not the cheapest but don't let the price put you off try them and thank me later!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous The right tire
For a while i was trying to find the correct tyre.Since my hartail came with Michelin Trail tyres that would get flat if you ride throught grass i had to find something better.Specialized "The Captain" next choice but still the flats were pretty often due to snake bites as the sidewalls where kind of thinner.
Advantage are ready to be abused and give confidence in dry/rocky trails/surface with their grip, haven't tested them yet on anything wet.(result after aprox.100km off-road riding)(haven't tested them yet on anything wet).Cornering and climbing much easier and at last no snake bites (even with low cost airwave tubes). If you need a tire to improve your riding without paying a fortune is a must have!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Maxxis strike again :-)
For a while I’d been running a High Roller front Cross Mark rear combo that I first saw on the Commencal Meta 55 Pro and it was excellent but with my old High Roller on its last legs it was replacement time and I thought I’d try something different up front with the Cross Mark in situ on the rear. As a multi conditional, predominately XC, rider the Advantage looked like a good bet and I’m not disappointed. So far I’ve pummelled it through everything from dry and dusty hardpack, lose gravel and scree, to damp, muddy forested routes, and even done some commuting and this tyre rolls pretty fast, clears well, allows razor sharp steering, soaks up the bumps, and hangs on in the corners with plenty of tenacity. The same Advantage/Cross Mark combo can be seen on the gorgeous Ghost RT Lector 7700. The only reason I’m awarding four stars for the time being and not five is because it’s still pretty new so I can’t comment with any authority yet about long term wear and puncture resistance. All in all typical Maxxis quality and highly recommended.
