An aggressive tread in high-volume casings distinguishes the newest addition to Maxxis' downhill and mountain disciplines. Designed with great traction in mind, the Ardent doesn't forget the racer. Large block-style side knobs offer numerous edges for high-speed corners. Center tread, while designed for braking and accelerating traction, also features ramped knobs to minimize rolling resistance. With a wide variety of size offerings, the Ardent captures every mountain rider's needs.

Lightweight Ultimate Sidewall Technology: Maxxis Mountain Tubeless tires, now feature Lightweight Ultimate Sidewall Technology (L.U.S.T.). L.U.S.T. offers better puncture resistance, improved air retention, better longevity and lower weight. Our engineers were not content with simply having one of the best tubeless tires on the market. Instead, they went back to the drawing board, reinvented the tubeless tire from the casing and tread and addressed your concerns about tubeless technology. By adding a thin fabric layer to the sidewall, covered in a special air-tight rubber compound, Maxxis created a casing that lighter, tougher and holds air better. Now, it’s available to you on all of our Cross Country and Freeride Tubeless tires.
15% lighter than our previous tubeless tires
Better air retention than competitors’ tires
Increased sidewall puncture resistance
Max PSI: 60

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous These tyres are fast but for me the front end grip inspires no confidence even after 5 months I still can't get on with this tyre on the front.
As a rear tyre it is brilliant it is very rare that I get traction issues whilst pedalling.
If I just rode XC I would have these tyres front and rear but as I ride a lot of trail I prefer a front that inspires confidence.
3 Stars for Front
5 Stars for Rear

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous My New Favourite Tyre
I used a Monorail, but found the Monorail was almost perfect..... except for in the Wet and Mud. This tyre is just awesome on just about everything. Fast rolling for All Mountain stuff due to the close big knobs in Centre. Big volume.. so run them mainly at 1.9bar. Grips like crazy on the corners. But, you need to corner hard. If you corner hesitantly, it will drift and slide out. Once you have the confidence to throw it into the corners, you will not want to use another tyre. Loose over Hardpack, Awesome. Rocky stuff, awesome. Wet roots in forest .. Slips a bit, but all tyres do. Mud, Grips well and shed mud too well.. FACES full at a time. A must buy for a good alround, all condition tyre.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous Good tyre, but heavy
I've been using these tyres in dry conditions on trails in the Peak District for a few weeks and I'm pretty pleased with them.
They're a generous volume for the stated 2.25" size and the casing seems very sturdy. They roll fast and handle rocky terrain well. Mounted to my Mavic UST rims very easily and don't seem to lose too much air over time.
Only real downside is the weight - mine came in at 865 grams each.
