Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice tires in all conditions I can't say much about the durability of these tires, I have only ridden them for 200 or so kilometers, but I can say that handle well in dry and wet conditions. They are fairly grippy and fast rolling. I am very happy with these tires so far and will most likely continue using Maxxis. 03 May 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by original equipment not up to scratch these came as original equipment on my Giant Seek1 and my intial impression was they were good re rolling resistance and grip in the wet, however, this all changed when i was on a long country ride and had 5 punctures in one day. subsequent use around home submitted me to more puncture inconvenience/frustration so off they came. I now have Continental Sport Contacts and have enjoyed puncture free riding ever since not to mention even better grip and less rolling resistance, plus i bought them for half the price through CR. Thanks CR. 25 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Training Tire, Good Race Tire Good overall tire with good durability. Only issue with durability with this tire was a cut in the sidewall that I saw before it led to a puncture/failure that was more due to the racing surface than anything else. These arnt the lightest or most gripping tires Ive used before but that comes with the advantage of puncture protection and longevity, so its a trade off, use the really grippy lightweight tire and risk not finishing or finish with a bit extra weight? Overall I would keep using these tires and recommend over many others if asked 13 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great tire! I've used a set of this tires and they are very good. Low rolling resistance, good cornering and traction, low weight and puncture resistant. I've ridden about 4700k and the front one is still good to go! Not even a single puncture! Recommended. 28 April 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by A commuter nightmare This tire is presented by Maxxis as a race tire, but as its a Taiwanese product it is used by a lot of manufacturers for their "hybrid" bikes..that are sold to commuters. The Columbiere is a good tire when it comes to cornering, road handling (even under the rain) but is a nightmare when it comes to puncture. Absolutely no puncture protection, the tire become flat when approaching a debris. Some times I had tow or three flats the same day (I commute 40 km each day to go to my office) a real nightmare. Changed for a pair of Continental Sport Contact, same behaviour (fast comfortable and good grip) but can handle a tiny debris without becoming flat. I don’t understand the exact role of this tire. In the “sport” department they are better choice (Michelin pro race on my road bike) and in the commuting department worse choice doesn’t exist. 26 November 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by I am very impressed with these tyres. I've done about 2 races with these and they are just great. As I am not really racing, I am doing long distance cycling, I get about 6000Km on these tyres before I need to replace them. 09 September 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by In response to Anonymous above, IMHO it's a bit unfair to diss a product because they don't work well for a purpose they were never designed for. *rolleyes*' I've covered just over 1000 training kms on mine and they're still going on ok, no puncture yet and a very comfotable ride 12 January 2009
Rated 4 out of 5 by A nice tyre Bought Columbiere in 25mm to be used as a rear tyre on dirt roads. Surprisingly light at 215g so it probably doesn't take well to riding over shards of glass or metal debris. Not much rolling resistance and quite comfortable too with latex. I'm definitely liking this tyre more than Rubino Pro (seems to be more puncture resistant too) but as far as ride quality goes Open Corsa it is not, that should be obvious though. 11 June 2008
