Maxxis High Roller DH Tyre

  • Hard pack and medium terrain downhill tire for front or rear.
  • "Ramped" knob design lowers rolling resistance and adds knob stability under hard braking.
  • Grooved center provides straight-line control and excellent cornering hold.
  • 2-ply casings with Butyl inserts in the sidewalls for flat resistance and stability at speed.

Maxxis Tyre Compounds: Maxxis produce multiple compounds for various types of terrain and racing development. For instance, sometimes the professional team and sponsored riders need tires that will perform well in all conditions; other times they need a tire that will handle wet rocks and roots, or a tire that will have a slower rebound.

Super Tacky- compound (42a) to address the wet, muddy courses: Slow Reezay- compound (40a) which allow's the tire to rebound much slower than a conventional tire, offering maximum grip and is the softest compound available.

Double Ply Casing: Two 60 tpi (threads per inch) casings vulcanized with butyl rubber reinforced sidewalls construct Maxxis downhill casings, which are world renowned for performance and reliability. Our DH casings provide more stability at high speeds and also allows for lower air pressure without the risk of pinch flatting. The reliability and stability at speed of our DH casings has won the 2001 NORBA DH Overall Title (with Maxxis pilot John Kirkcaldie), as well as numerous NORBA NCS and UCI Downhill podium spots.

  • Ramped knob design
  • 2 ply casings with Butyl inserts
  • TPI: 60
  • Super Tacky/Slow Reezay compound

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 157 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by very grippy I used these tyres on front and back for my holiday in the Alps this summer and found they made a real difference as were incredibly grippy. Surprisingly easy to fit too with being dual ply 10 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Confidence Inspiring + Crazy Fun I've had these for over a year now and these are great tires, inspiring confidence on the trail and really just a lot of fun. The center line has a low rolling resistance for speed in the straights, while the soft edges grip nicely on cornering. My favorite part about them though is the small gap between the center and edge that lets the tire slide out for just a split second before it grips in and takes off. So awesome! They took a lot of sweat and even some blood (honestly) to put on though, just really really tight. But haven't had a flat since! 29 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by grip when you need it but cuts loose to Rode this tire all over the western states on a variety of surfaces and it never let me down. One stick went through the tire but the tubless sealant did the trick and never had to patch it. 21 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All round great tyre Great tyre. Went for the sticky compound which has been great for climbing steep rocks etc. Have only ridden a handful of times, but no real signs if wear yet. 18 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by ottima gomma ottima gomma.davvero resistente alle forature e con un grip eccellente su tutti i fondi, unica nota negativa ,nella mescola 42 super tacky montata al posteriore consumo iper rapido..consiglio una mescola 60 al posteriore. 25 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't expect anything less! Typical Maxxis product, very well made. Long lasting, supreme grip and fast rolling! 28 May 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Для агресивного кросс кантри точно нет!!! Слишком тяжолая резина, накат мне совсем не понравился, на щебеночном грунте постоянно плавает заднее колесо велосипеда, для даунхила агресивного в самый раз. 12 April 2014

Answer:
The Maxxis High Roller tyre is a folding casing. The tyre side walls and bead is Duel Ply so the thickness does not allow it to physically fold though.

Answer:
3C runs a triple compound of 70a/42a/40a rubber, while the Maxxpro is 60a throughout, and Super Tacky is 42a.

The 3C version will wear at different rates; the outer 42a compound will wear down relatively quickly to the 70a base, at which point wear will slow down significantly. The 40a compound used on the shoulder will last a little longer than the 42a outer depending on your riding style.
The 60a and 42a tires will wear at an even rate throughout their life.
