Maxxis Minion DHF Front MTB Tyre

The Minion DHF is the standard by which all other aggressive mountain tires are measured. The DHF incorporates ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and channel-cut knobs to increase gripping edges, giving straight-line control and precise cornering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best allround front tyre for a downhill bike, so reliable. So much more confidence in these when it gets a little bit wet than high rollers 28 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't go wrong with these. Good DH tyre, strong casing, loads of grip and the most reasonably priced tyre of its type. I run DHF's front and rear. Not my first set and probably not my last. 25 September 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sticky and grippy Excellent tyre and the sticky compound is just that, very sticky. Couple this with some stiff rims and you can change direction quicker than a politician. Only draw back is that the 2.5 looks skinny compared to the 2.5 Specialized Butcher that it replaced, but it's considerably lighter. 01 September 2014

Answer:
This version of the Minion tyre is not tubeless. Maxxis tubeless ready tyres will have UST in the title.
The UST version of the Minion DHF can be found in the link below.

Answer:
The tubeless version of these tyres have UST designated in the title, so they're a different listing on CRC... but I run these non-UST tyres tubeless with stans without any problems... and they're a bit lighter too!

Answer:
The Minion tyres are not specifically for Downhill riding and get used a lot for All Mountain, Enduro and aggressive Trail riding.

The DHF and DHR are in relation to the tread patterns that the tyre has and are best ran as a pair (complete tyre system).

Note however that the tyre queried is a Dual Ply tyre which is heavier, but if you mainly descend then this is not an issue. For a lighter casing; see the recommendations below.

Answer:
Not really, the 2.5 is about the same size as Schwalbe 2.35s... If you want bulky I'd suggest you get the 2.7s

Fully inflated the 2.7" Minion has a similar volume to a 2.5" High Roller although is considerably 'beefier' in profile.
