The Maxxis Wet Scream is THE tyre for the worst winter DH conditions
Double Ply Casing Two 60 tpi (threads per inch) casings vulcanized with butyl rubber reinforced sidewalls construct Maxxis downhill casings, which are world renowned for performance and reliability. Our DH casings provide more stability at high speeds and also allows for lower air pressure without the risk of pinch flatting.
The reliability and stability at speed of our DH casings has won the 2001 NORBA DH Overall Title (with Maxxis pilot John Kirkcaldie), as well as numerous NORBA NCS and UCI Downhill podium spots.
Choose from Super Tacky - compound (42a) to address the wet, muddy courses, or the Slow Reezay- compound (40a) which allowes the tire to rebound much slower than a conventional tire, offering maximum grip and is the softest compound available.
"No other mud tire compares...period!" Mike King, Team HARO

More about Maxxis tyre compounds
Maxxis produce multiple compounds for various types of terrain and racing development. For instance, sometimes the professional team and sponsored riders need tires that will perform well in all conditions; other times they need a tyre that will handle wet rocks and roots, or a tire that will have a slower rebound.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous amazing!, not that long lasting though
amazing grip!, perfect i also have used them in the dry and they always catch you when you would normally drift out on that wet or dry day, only problem is the tried dose wear out quite fast becuase of such soft rubber, however worth the buy defilement, but the mion tyers are longer lasting for sure!, AND PS, DON'T EVER THING ABOUT GETTING A PUNCTURE AGAIN WITH THIS TYER

Deadly tyre, I use t when the rain comes and doing eunduro races. It will play you though everything and no amount of slomp will slow you down. I did make the mistake of leaving it the utility room with dryer and due to heat it hardened the rim so cant make it tubless anymore. Thats my mistake but the tyre is class. Again though as description says its race specific and I wouldnt use it on a regular basis

The Wet screams are made for downhill and wet mud and they do there job well. I have also tested them in Thick snow and it was has if it was a dry summers day. The grip is very very good. I would never ride with them on road you would wear yourself out and that's not what they are made for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Great Tyre!
Ive changed alot on my bike since moving up to wales 6months ago, these are the best tyres ive ever ridden! and definatly recommend!! Ive used them in crazy conditions and they never let go, even when your trying to slide! The only thing I would say is that lucky for me its a short walk to the trails but for anyone who has to ride even a short distance, dont go for the super tacky 42a's, they wear quickly on anything but thick mud and the 60a's (unless your racing) dont change performance noticably but do last longer!

these are great race specific tyres and work a treat when the heavens open.to all the people who are complaining about their drag on the road and how fast they wear down, this is why they are RACE SPECIFIC for when theres sloppy mud on the track. overall great tyre, well worth the money

I bought these after being recommended them by the guy in the Belfast shop. They are definately a brilliant tyre. They give so much grip in wet and mud, it's almost like riding in the dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous awesome tyre
tall blocks offer loads of bite when the going gets sloppy, excellent cornering, braking and surprisingly low resistance when on the pedals, soft compound also provides plenty of grip on wet rocks and roots even when severely off camber, could not ask for more in a spike tyre
