Rated 5 out of 5 by oldtupp Turned an MTB in to an acceptable road bike
26 x 1.85 tyre. Because of a shoulder injury had to give up riding a carbon fibre winter bike for my MTB in Dec. The MTB isn't the worst, or heaviest, Giant XTC3, but compared to the road bike it was liking cycling a garden shed. Decided to change the tyres for something smoother but wasn't prepared to pay a fortune because I'd be back on the road bike sooner or later. These where just about the cheapest I could find so wasn't expecting a great deal despite the decent reviews. What can I say, after 250 miles they have exceeded all my expectations. They have transformed the performance of the MTB, with the added bonus that I'm now using favourite country lanes again that I had abandoned on the road bike because of the state of the road surface. Survived an enounter with a farmer cutting a hawthorn hedge that left both tyres with several cuttings embeded in them without mishap. I've used them on tracks, cycleways, in the wet and wet mud (on the aforementioned country lanes) and have had no problem with grip. If your need is the same as mine then these tyres are what you want.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mattm Disappointing after the Pilot City
Not being able to find the Michelin Pilot City tyres I've been using for the past few years for commuting on South Australian roads, I hoped the Michelin Pilot would be comparable. Alas, within four weeks of fitting them I got a terminal glass puncture. The casing is ruined and the tyre had to be disposed of.
Cutting a cross section of the City and the Pilot City for comparison, the City has a much thinner protective layer, and a thinner and apparently inferior casing. After years of destroying Schwalbe and Continental MTB road tyres I'd found the perfect tyre in the now discontinued Michelin Pilot City. It ate glass and hazards to lesser tyres over a lifetime of around 15,000 km.
The Michelin City is a poor pretender to the crown, and my search for the perfect tyre starts once anew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VeggieTrailTroll Smooth as silk
Purchased the 1.85 pair for a 100km road event, which I did on my full sus as training for a offroad enduro event......WOW!!! They were fantastic...the best fun I have had riding on the road.
Ok so the 1.85 to me felt a little odd ( my knobbly's are 2.50s ) and was not too sure to start with about the grip as they didnt have dice size chunks of rubber all over them but these smooth city tyres stuck to the road like glue and made me feel like I had an extra gear.
Easy to fit & really liked the reflective band....great safety feature...a little light on them and you cant miss them, at all!!!!
I cant compare these to any other road tyres, these being my first but am very happy with the purchase, the way they handled on the day on a wide range of road surfaces and the way they look....and for the price, well thats just an extra bonus.
Big thumbs up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Very little resistance
May be because I have always ridden mountain bikes before with great big blocks of rubber for grip in the muddy trail, I found these tyres very high rolling with minimum resistance and noise. At the amazing price that CRC is giving them away, you cannot go wrong. Everyone seem to love the grip in the dry condition, I agree. I have not been able to test their grip in the wet as I ride slower when it is wet to avoid being sprayed all over my back (I hate bikes with mudguards).
As mentioned by other reviewer these tyres are noticeably heavier in comparison to most tyres, even heavier than my off road tyres, but their rolling ability easily outweigh the weight disadvantage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous Sidewall split after 10 weeks
Unfortunately I have not had the same positive experience as the previous reviewers. I chose these because of the quality Michelin brand I've always used them on the motorbike.
I had these on the bike for less than 10 weeks and the rear suddenly split (20mm or so) on the sidewall just above the rim bead, (The wheel rim in this area is in perfect condition). The tyre was run at 60psi in gentle commuter use.
I still have the the front on at 50psi, hopefully this will last a little longer
