Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst ... tyres ... EVER ! There's a reason these tyres are only a tenner ... they are absolutely lamentable. If they were made of solid iron they'd probably be lighter and have more grip. Joking apart, as soon as I put these tyres on the handling of my bike changed dramatically for the worse. Maybe if you never exceed about 10mph you might get away with these but if you do, or if you're used to a reasonably light and /or grippy tyre then please steer well clear of these. 19 May 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by These tyres developed cracks in the side wall within 6 months. Bought two of these tyres in October 2013 and fitted them to the bike. Only used the bike 3 or 4 times and the tyres developed cracks in the side walls within approx 6 months. They hadn't been stored flat or at more than the recommended pressure. I expected a lot more from what appeared to be a premium brand. Seemed great value at the time but very disappointed now. Looking now I can see at least one similar review from last May so unsure if this is a general poor quality product issue or an isolated faulty batch. 03 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent commuter tyres. Put a pair of 1.85's at 80 PSI on my Cove hard tail to help with the daily 15 mile round daily commute. Took 2 minutes off current time when I had got used to them (grippiness, cornering etc.) Puncture protection seems to be doing what it claims so far, the blowout that I have had would have happened to any tyre, perks of riding through a bypass build twice a day!! Reflective band? every little helps when trying to get seen by the metal monsters that we share the road with. Good price for the product at the moment. 25 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by
Rated 5 out of 5 by Turned an MTB in to an acceptable road bike 26 x 1.85 tyre. Because of a shoulder injury had to give up riding a carbon fibre winter bike for my MTB in Dec. The MTB isn't the worst, or heaviest, Giant XTC3, but compared to the road bike it was liking cycling a garden shed. Decided to change the tyres for something smoother but wasn't prepared to pay a fortune because I'd be back on the road bike sooner or later. These where just about the cheapest I could find so wasn't expecting a great deal despite the decent reviews. What can I say, after 250 miles they have exceeded all my expectations. They have transformed the performance of the MTB, with the added bonus that I'm now using favourite country lanes again that I had abandoned on the road bike because of the state of the road surface. Survived an enounter with a farmer cutting a hawthorn hedge that left both tyres with several cuttings embeded in them without mishap. I've used them on tracks, cycleways, in the wet and wet mud (on the aforementioned country lanes) and have had no problem with grip. If your need is the same as mine then these tyres are what you want. 06 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice pair of RUBBER!! Got these pair of rubber to do street riding. Best looking rubber even. give a good grip even on rainy ride. A good price for a decent pair of rubber! 13 November 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointing after the Pilot City Not being able to find the Michelin Pilot City tyres I've been using for the past few years for commuting on South Australian roads, I hoped the Michelin Pilot would be comparable. Alas, within four weeks of fitting them I got a terminal glass puncture. The casing is ruined and the tyre had to be disposed of. Cutting a cross section of the City and the Pilot City for comparison, the City has a much thinner protective layer, and a thinner and apparently inferior casing. After years of destroying Schwalbe and Continental MTB road tyres I'd found the perfect tyre in the now discontinued Michelin Pilot City. It ate glass and hazards to lesser tyres over a lifetime of around 15,000 km. The Michelin City is a poor pretender to the crown, and my search for the perfect tyre starts once anew. 02 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smooth as silk Purchased the 1.85 pair for a 100km road event, which I did on my full sus as training for a offroad enduro event......WOW!!! They were fantastic...the best fun I have had riding on the road. Ok so the 1.85 to me felt a little odd ( my knobbly's are 2.50s ) and was not too sure to start with about the grip as they didnt have dice size chunks of rubber all over them but these smooth city tyres stuck to the road like glue and made me feel like I had an extra gear. Easy to fit & really liked the reflective band....great safety feature...a little light on them and you cant miss them, at all!!!! I cant compare these to any other road tyres, these being my first but am very happy with the purchase, the way they handled on the day on a wide range of road surfaces and the way they look....and for the price, well thats just an extra bonus. Big thumbs up. 29 August 2013
