Rated 4 out of 5 by Fair for the money I've had a pair of these on a fixie for a year now. Not bad rolling resistance. Thick rubber; only picked up three/four punctures in approx. 1500 miles. However the rear tyre is starting to lose its shape and it's only a matter of time before the sidewall splits. Having said that, they were very very cheap and have been good for a heavy year of varying surface quality, hence the four stars. 25 November 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by dangerous on the road If you lean into corners on the road these are a bad idea as the grip drops off very suddenly. Grip for a bike tyre on a wet or dry road is determined by the area of rubber in contact with the road. Unfortunately on these tyres, the side tread is much more open and so the area and grip roughly halves when you lean into a turn. The thin side knobs also squirm and can give way suddenly. They are pretty good off-road, and fast on the road - just make sure you slow down for corners or buy something else. 23 February 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by fast, comfortable but heavy Rolls surprisingly well compared to a slick tyre and the volume gives much more comfort on rougher roads. Not bad off-road either and seems pretty tough. Very heavy though. 17 February 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Impressive tyres Bought these tyres for my hybrid which I commute to & from work on (35 mile round trip) I need long lasting grippy puncture proof tyres & these tick those boxes, I ride a mix of old railway lines & pot-holed country lanes & these are a perfect compromise, decent grip on loose surfaces, fairly fast rolling on the road sections, I have done about 300 miles on them so far & no punctures yet :-) They do make the bike feel a bit 'dead' after slightly lighter tyres without the puncture resistant belting, but its a price worth paying if they stay puncture free, as someone else mentioned-the reflective stripe is superb as most bike lighting is focused front/rear, so its re-assuring to have good sideways visability. I'd buy them again on performance to date. 17 May 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Michelin Tracker I replaced a set of cyclo cross tyres with these and I honestly felt like I was riding a different bike. They feel fast, secure and strong. Oh, and they look great with the reflective band. I would give them 5 stars but haven't had them for long enough to review how they live up to their puncture protection claims. Great tyres! 03 May 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tyre for price I had 700 x 37 standard semi slicks on my Scott hybrid and after getting a puncture the other week and having to walk 5 miles home I decided to upgrade my tyres. Asked CRC for some advice and they pointed me in the right direction. Having had a Michelin City before on my MTB which had the Protek system and being impressed with that I thought that at a tenner it was worth a punt. Very easy to fit and after doing 100 miles and a long stretch on a very stoney beach still going strong. The other thing I noticed was the improved speed. Was averaging 15mph on the stock tyres - as soon as I put this on the rear I was cruising at around 17/18 mph so great rolling resitance. Highly reccommended for £9.99 delivered. Picky criticsm could be that CRC tech support could be a bit quicker but I understand they must be busy. Think I waited about 4 days for a response but apart from that, excellent! 01 March 2011
26 October 2009
