Middleburn Inner Hardcoat Chainring

A special ceramic/PTFE coating is applied to the rings in place of the regular anodised finish. This has two benefits - 10 times less friction and 4 times the wear resistance of a standard ring.

  • Available only in certain sizes.
  • Can be combined with Slickshift machining too.
  • PTFE coating
  • Less friction with increased wear

Rated 5 out of 5 by Top marks Superb. Replaced a god awful Shimano XT ring that was causing chain suck. Was so impressed I bought the company!! Only kidding, I swapped out middle and outer too for similar. If you need new rings, look no further. Simple design and performs very well and is bomb proof. None of this mayhem causing ramp business. Understated looks and great value for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 02 March 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by good quality and durable, i will monitor how long it lasts compared to my usual cheaper rings 19 April 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Quality and Excellent Value These are stiff and light and, due to the state of the British economy, cheaper than shimano. 24 tooth is a good compromise size in my opinion. The hard coat looks good but I do not know if is reduces friction as per the claims and it wears off the teeth quite quickly. A good ring in my opinion. 08 April 2010

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as good as I expected! I am not sure how much difference the hardcoat makes to wear but after 4 months of riding once a week I am suffering chain suck like you would not believe!! :-( I ride all mountain in muddy conditions but I would still expect it to last longer than it has! - I have replaced with a Blackspire Stainless Steel 22T Chuck Ring, it will be interesting to see how long it lasts. 18 December 2008

Rated 5 out of 5 by I had a hardcoat for 2yrs now. Some of the hard stuff has wore off some of the teeth, but there is no wear on it. And it looks brand new, teeth like the picture above but with some silver teeth. (comparing to 2 normal granny ring a year, with teeth, that end up like an anorexic supermodel.) 18 April 2007
