if you use a triple you need slick shift, the shifting is pants, and constantly jams chain wrecking your front mech. otherwise, perfectly machined and super smooth transmission.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous bent chain ring
Bought this and the inner/outer ring a couple of months ago - although they are light and shift very well The middle and outer rings are basically on their last legs Not only have have the teeth shaved off the middle ring is bent from shifting
I have been riding all winter on them so it may just be wear 'n' tear but I would expect more out of a product at this price range
I would go for the hard coat option not this one if you are going to purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous If you have a problem with shifting when fitting these rings then you probably have the wrong ring. Shimano XT for example has differnt ring spacing to what was standard and so puting a standard fit four hole Middleburn ring on will upset the indexing. That is why there is an XT version. If you get the right one they are excellent and last well.

Just compare the quality machining of Middleburn rings compared to Shimano's pressed ones. Never found a problem shifting in either direction, but then I know how to set up a front derailier. And these rings are excellent. They last a lot longer. I have had two very wet winters and our torrential summer out of one ring so far and it will see me into the summer. I ride twice a week in gritty mud.
