For two years the crew of 3 MINUTE GAPS have followed the world’s best mountain bike racers around the globe documenting them as they trained, prepared, rode, ate, travelled, raced, celebrated, commiserated, and made sacrifices simply because of the weight of ambition to be the fastest. There is no truer, more accurate and intimate depiction of the hallowed worlds of the very best World Cup rider's than 3 MINUTE GAPS.
Filmed in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, and every round of the 2009 and 2010 World Cup Series and World Championships.
Director Clay Porter has travelled the world capturing a story of triumph and struggle. From multiple World Champions to future World Champions - including Gee Atherton, Sam Hill, Aaron Gwin, Sam Blenkinsop, Brendan Fairclough, Greg Minnaar, Andrew Neethling, Danny Hart, Matti Lehikoinen, Ben Reid, and Josh Bryceland - this film chronicles the new breed of racers who are re-shaping modern downhill racing, and indeed, riding.
This movie is more than a Post-It note stuck on a page of mountain bike history, it is a leather bound pop-up book printed on sheets of polished stone with a crystal ball for the contents. For years to come this movie will still be referenced in conversations and discussions about when riding was re-imagined.

I thought Three minute Gaps was a work of pure brilliance. To say it’s the best mountain biking DVD I have ever seen is no exaggeration. The filming, story and music are superb. There really isn’t much else to say.
I don’t think you have to be a downhill nut to enjoy this either.
Long story short, if you are fed up to the back teeth of American rock music thrashing over some teenager endlessly jumping the same jump, then buy this movie. It’s simply fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Unbelievable.
This is, without a doubt, the best mountain bike move ever. It has been produced to such a high standard. It tells the story of the 2010 world cup season and includes some of the best rider segments I've ever seen. The movie builds up tension and tells the story. It is well worth the money! I got it and expected it to be 45 minutes long at the most but it's actually around 1 hour 20 minutes! To sum up, do not buy any other movie, this is by far the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous A unique insight...
I'm not going to spoil this superb vid for you, but I'll give you some highlights of a pretty unique documentary/riding vid.
Forget all the other riding vids you've seen - 3 Minute Gaps provides an excellent insight into the ultra-competitive world of the Downhill World Cup with rider interviews, both during and after the season. Then there's plenty of race action and individual rider sections with Anthill-esque cablecam angles, plenty of slo-mo and top riding in the riders' local trails.
Plus plenty of insight into the injuries that put Sam Hill and Rachel and Dan Atherton out of the majority of their respective seasons, and in Dan's case almost killed him.
Covering every round of the 2010 season, including the nailbiting climax at the Windham round, this doc covers the highs and lows of pro downhill racing.

Pre-ordered this months ago (Pinkbike.com)| due to availability at the time as CRC had no details. Love all MTB DVDs but this one is a cut above the rest! Everything (music, angles etc) are perfectly thought out....its like a documentary with a kick to it...you really feel the emotion and excitement of the season. The rider profile sections are amazing, helicopter chases etc. Clay Porter really delivers the goods...a fantastic DVD, well worth it and my mates can't wait to get round to watch it! A top purchase and an essential addition to your MTB DVD collection!
