DSC - Double Shield Construction
Extreme Winter stands out for the revolutionary Double Shield Construction (DSC). The overlap of two different uppers, anatamically integrated with each others and designed to work together, ensure an absolute protection agaist water and cold. The outer layer  blocks the weathered while the inner works by creating a microclimate ideal for the foot. All the benefits of a shoecover, none of the weakness of a shoecover.

Gore-Tex®® Sierra membrane
Available on the brand new Extreme Winter, the Gore-Tex ® Sierra membrane features excellent thermal insulation, making it ideal for your bike rides even in late winter, for those who love challenges. Totally waterproof and breathable, it is also a guarantee of durability boasting a high resistance to abrasion.

Speedlight 3D Sole
The nylon chassis is filled with fiberglass and co-injected to the outer polished TPU shell. The rubber studs provide excellent grip: you want less weight and more performance so this is exclusively for you.

Boa® closure
The double BOA® closure allows a differential adjustement along the neck of the foot and the lower area, so as to avoid uncomfortable hotspots and provide a super enveloping fit. In addition, the BOA system stands out as one of the fastest and effective systems on the market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Comfortable, quality product, just too expensive I bought these to put an end to cold feet. I've used overshoes in the past but find them a bit of a pain and short lived when mountain biking. I've had these for a few months now and worn them in temperatures from about 12C to just below zero and in pouring rain and through floods, on and off road. I have wide feet but I found that the lacing system on these works very well allowing me to wear my normal size with plenty of toe wiggle room. I also tried specialized defrosters but my normal size wasn't wide enough and the next size up was too long. I find them warm enough with normal socks when riding in the dry, but not as warm as I'd expected when the outer gets really wet. I certainly couldn't imagine using them with normal socks in -25 as advertised. On the plus side I think they'd be comfortable from October to May. I find the lower part of the boot completely waterproof, having ridden through floods and in downpours, but my feet do still get wet at times. I'm not sure if it's water getting past the neoprene like gusset, in through the neoprene ankle closure, or just being soaked up from wet leggings, but it does get in. Seems less of a problem when wearing tights that go over the ankle closure so I'm tempted to think its water soaking through from leggings. On balance, I like them, and they are a huge improvement on my old cycling shoes, but they are not as good as I'd expected given the price tag. If you can get past the price tag then I think they are a good choice, especially if you have wide feet. 05 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Calientes y agradables Botas perfectas para invierno y tiempo lluvioso. Suficientemente rígidas para XC y con relativamente poco peso para las botas que son. Cómodas de llevar. 20 November 2013

If one of the wire laces is accidently damaged, is there any way to get it repaired? It seems like it should be an easy fix if I could get the parts and could figure out how to get the lace tightening button off!

Answer:
Northwave shoes are sized the same as Shimano. They are a narrow fitting.
As people have suggested the best thing would be to purchase the next size up from your normal.
