NS Bikes Eccentric Frame

A beautiful but tough hardtail for all mountain and trail riding. NS built this frame using Tange Eccentric cromoly tubes that have been developed over the years for our dirt-jump bikes. The result is an incredibly strong yet light hardtail for aggressive trail riding. The Eccentric is designed primarily for 650B wheels but will work with 26” too. Rides best with a 140-150mm fork. The weight of the frame is approximately 2.4kg which is light by any standards, but thanks to their in depth knowledge of steel frame constructions NS know that it will also be strong enough to hold up to a lot of abuse. All the know-how that NS has managed to aquire over the years in building steel hardtails has been funneled into the frame of this bike and it really is the very best money can buy.

I am planning on buying this frame and using it with 26 inch wheels, but is it best to buy a
650b RockShox Sektor Gold RL Solo Air Fork, and then run 26 inch wheels on that?
is this the best way because I'm not sure?

Answer:
It would be best to simply run a 26" fork; a 650b wheel is only approx 25mm larger in diameter meaning that the headtube will only sit about 12mm lower with a 26" wheel. This will steepen the head angle slightly but will not make a major difference.

A headset with a larger stack lower cup would balance out the difference caused by the wheel size difference should the correct geometry be deisred.

Answer:
Those components are not included and you have to buy separately. You need a semi integrated Zero Stack Headset ID (Internal Diameter) 44/44mm and 34.9mm seatclamp.

Rear thru Axel included?

Does this frame come with a 135mm axle? or do you have to buy separate? Im thinking of buying this frame but my Hope Hubs can only be converted to 135mm not the 142mm spacing stated.

What headset would I need for a 1 1/8 fork?

Ideally I would want to increase the stack on the bottom of the headtube as I will be running 26inch wheels for a bit

Thanks!

Answer:
For a 1 1/8" fork, you need a standard ZeroStack headset. As you want to run a 26" wheel, I'd suggest a Hope Pick N Mix headset, that way you can replace the lower cup when you move up to 27.5" wheels.
Use top cup ZS44/28.6 - Type 2 for both 26" and 27.5" wheels
For the lower cup, you can use the Hope Bottom Cup EC44/40 - Type H with a Hope tapered crown reducer.
When you move to 27.5" wheels, you can replace the lower cup with a standard ZS one - ZS44/30 - Type B
