The original Nukeproof Mega was inspired by the explosion in Enduro-style DH events, taking its name and its cues from the daddy of them all – the Megavalanche

For 2013 we’ve given the Mega AM a makeover, with an all-new custom hydroformed tubeset for increased front-end stiffness and improved strength-to-weight ratio, plus an additional 10mm rear travel – now 160mm – offering ultimate stability and confidence on the most gnarly of Alpine descents.

Now designed to take forks with up to 180mm travel, the Mega AM combines downhill prowess with pedalling efficiency – perfect for the unique challenges thrown up by competitive Enduro events, Alpine trips, All-Mountain adventures or tough, technical riding where uplifts aren’t an option.

Progressive suspension

Suspension-wise, the Mega uses our 'Erosion' linkage giving a smooth progressive action with a well controlled mid-stroke to avoid wallowing under pedal loads.

Oversize main pivot bearings are contained in a bespoke CNC-machined Bottom Bracket assembly to ensure alignment, durability and precision, while an asymmetric chainstay design gives clearance for a front derailleur and compatibility with all leading models of ISCG 05 - mounted chain retention systems.

Geometry is based around a slack 66deg head angle and 72deg seat angle, with a long wheelbase keeping the centre of gravity low for optimum stability at speed.

A 44mm headset standard keeps the front of the bike light, with Nukeproof headset options allowing flush internal, flush top/external bottom, tapered or 1.5in headset compatibility, while at the rear, a 142mm x 12mm thru-axle keeps things planted.

The Mega AM also features removable cable guides for a ‘gravity dropper’ adjustable seat post, as well as internal cable routing for a RockShox Reverb Stealth post.

  • Fork range: 160mm to 180mm

Rated 4 out of 5 by Boa bike, bonita e com um otimo funcionamento! 16 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by buon telaio telaio di ottima fattura si presta a usi piuttosto gravosi, belle grafiche e grande sensazione di solidità. 05 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good frame - high quality! Very light = 3,8 kg size m - with rear damper and plastic package + 50 g )))) Painting very beautiful! Fast delivery to Moscow = 14 days. I ready to ride fast in new season!!! 20 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does everyting, its ability is awsome! I have built the AM frame up with Rockshox Pike 160 dual height forks, with an idea that it would help stop steering wander on steep technical climbs, its worked out fine and out performs my expectations with out a shadow of doubt. Down hill is where it comes into its own, the frame is nice an stiff an tracks accurately over any surface, the Monarch+ shock handles the big hits as well as anything I've ridden in the past ten years. I have tested this bike for three winter months in the Uk's Northen Alps, "Hebden Bridge", before making any comment here and the result is an excellent well mannered big hitting, awesome machine. 11 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Frame is worth it! I always had a XC set-up and I can tell the efficiency pedalling with it but what is the disadvantage was in the down hill and technical part of the trail. So decided to shift to AM set-up, with low budget I bought a cheap bike. I tried it right away on a race then was so disappointed on it performance, it was a heavy baggage! Also got some teasing from fellow riders that the bike is too heavy and stiff. They said why the heck buy that! So was so upset sell that bike right away. After selling the bike got the cash add up some on it and went right away to CRC. Then saw this frame, no one in the group is using this brand so I said they are in for a surprise. Read the journal on it and convince me that this is the right bike frame since I have a 160mm fork. Got this frame a week ago and as soon as I open it from the box, I was surprised of the weight. It was lighter than I expected. So transfer all my components and stuff from the old bikes I had and got a new RD. tested it on the same trail where we had the enduro race. Oh man! The trail became much easier. Put my single chain crank and 10 speed set-up and it was very efficient pedalling on up hill. The description from having a good geometry that helps in uphill pedalling was true. Then on the technical part it was a blast! This investment is really worth it. Can't wait till the next enduro race. Highly recommend this frame. 26 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome frame Could not believe how well this bike pedals. Super beefy , built up with a 1x10 sram x9 tubeless wheelset and pike fork bike weighs 30lbs. Can ride all day on xc trails .bike is spot on 26 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 24 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good If you buy this WARNING . If you get a clunking/ knocking sound from the rear shock do not ride it . Contact CR 16 June 2013

Answer:
The headtube on this frame is a 44mm.

This means that you can choose one of our Nukeproof headsets which will allow you to run either a fork with a 1 1/8", tapered or 1.5" steerer tube depending on the fork which you want to use.

Hope this helps

Answer:
The Mega frame requires a 31.6mm seatpost, and is designed for forks running 160-180mm of travel. The headtube is a straight 44mm, so can be fitted with a headset to accept a straight 1.1/8 steerer, a tapered steerer, or even a 1.5" steerer as required.

Answer:
Ce cadre est livré standard en 142mm x 12mm mais vous pouvez le modifier en 135mm x 12mm avec le kit:
Nukeproof Mega AM-TR 135mm Dropout Kit 2013

Donc si votre roue est en 135mm x 12mm vous devrez prendre le kit en plus et ce sera compatible.

Answer:
The spacing is for a 142mm x 12 spaced hub as standard but the dopout can be flipped around and then a 135 x 12 hub can be slotted in.

Quick Release hubs (9mm) are not compatible with this stock frame.

Ahead there will be 3 stars, the switch highly fastens, and probably not everyone is compatible to this frame? I tried to put the Shimano SLX M665 top swing 2x9 dual pull switch, but it fastens very highly you watch a photo
