New for 2013, the Mega TR, the newest addition to the “Mega” family takes our highly acclaimed Mega AM and trims back the travel and weight to provide a more athletic trail friendly chasis. Rear wheel travel is set at 130mm making it the perfect option for ‘one-bike’ singletrack riders who like to tackle the gnarl but want a rig they can pedal all day.

Don’t want the full 160mm of a dedicated Enduro rig but still want the option of a versatile frame that can be built burly if needs must?

Check out the TR.

Featuring a lighter custom-hydroformed tubeset than the AM to shave off some weight; the Mega TR is designed to take forks with travel between 140mm and 160mm, making it just as capable of tackling a marathon event or full day of trail centre runs as it is an Alpine Enduro.

Just like the original Mega the TR also uses our 'Erosion' linkage giving a smooth, progressive suspension action with a well controlled mid-stroke to avoid wallowing under pedal loads – the perfect platform for a true trail bike that needs to climb as well as descend.

Oversize main bearing pivots are contained in a bespoke CNC-machined Bottom Bracket assembly to ensure alignment, durability and precision, while the chainstay design gives clearance for a front derailleur and compatibility with all leading models of ISCG - mounted chain retention systems.

Our aggressive trail/enduro geometry is based around a 67deg head angle and 73.5deg seat angle, while a 44mm headset standard keeps the front of the bike light. Nukeproof headset options allow flush internal, flush top/external bottom, tapered or 1.5in headset compatibility, while a 135mm/142mm x 12mm thru-axle keeps things planted at the rear.
The Mega TR also features removable cable guides for a ‘gravity dropper’ adjustable seat post, as well as internal cable routing for a RockShox Reverb Stealth post.

We have also added bottle cage mounts to meet the requests of enduro riders.

A true do-it-all platform for riders who refuse to be categorised, we reckon the TR has Your Next Bike written all over it.

Nukeproof Mega TR Frame Features:

  • Trail/Enduro frame

  • 130mm travel

  • Aggressive Trail/Enduro Geometry
  • True 44mm headtube
  • Removable cable guides for dropper post, also internal cable routing for RockShox Reverb Stealth post

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent burly trail bike This frame is a very good trail bike option and is happy running big forks. Its perfect for me as a bike for the climbs and downhills - not too much travel at the rear and can take a big fork up front. I run Lyriks with a double ring set up and a Reverb stealth which is great for cross country trails. The complete build I have is heavier than my previous bike but it climbs just as well - in fact better as the rear shock doesn't bob. The quality of these frames are great although I found a bit of extra paint in one of the cable bosses which I had to clean. I'd recommend getting the Nukeproof chainstay protector as you don't get one with the frame. I got the Silver frame on recommendation - the pictures don't do this justice. Its really more of a Gun Metal grey and looks awesome. I had to do a bit of research to work out what all the cable guides actually were. You get single, double and triple guides and ave the option to use single or double on the top tube depending on what cables you need to run. 07 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Such Fun! First thing I noticed is the back end is super stiff no flex when hitting berms etc just great fun Grips and rails so well, quality is second to none, geometry for me is spot on, seems to love drops and jumps just feel the extra confidence is going to get me into trouble!! Remember comes with 142mm dropouts you have to buy the 135's Great work Chain Reaction really happy! 06 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value and great fun!! This is a very solid frame with spot on geometry. I was between a medium and large and went for the large. Glad i did, its a good fit for me with a 50mm stem. The frame pedals well and i dont find the (relatively) short travel lacking on the rough stuff. Very easy to get it airborne too! If your looking for a fun, aggressive trail bike frame i would definatley recommend this one. Only con is the paint work seem a tad fragile... 12 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just fantastic - BUY ONE! Frame only 26" version. New 2 x 10 XT (24/38), XT shifters, XT direct mount front mech, XT shadow medium cage rear mech, KMC X10 chain, SLX 10 speed cassette, Avid Elixir 7's, NP headset to enable existing forks, NP straight seat post. Re used N.P warhead 70mm stem & 720 war head riser bars, NP saddle, Stans flow ZTR's (26") on minion DHR2's tubeless Rock shox RL coil sektors (20mm axle). Frame quality is just superb, attention to details is exemplory. Usual high quality service from CRC, both parcels arrived within a day of each other all the way down here in Spain (a hour from Valencia) within a week! Just one ride so far and it feels perfect. great balance, fast direction changes, fantastic pedal action even with shock fully open. This frame is so good it takes NO FAFFING to make it work. With a bit of time I can imagine it will be even better. 06 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid Performer 26" MTB Frame Pros: 1. Lightweight and hard as a rock. 2, Front Derailleur optional with direct mount. 3. Cable guides included. 4. Monarch RT3 ML ( see cons). 5. Climbs fast and makes jumps with confidence. 6. Seat post tube eliminates 400mm plus lengths. 7. Pivot Bearings not bushings. 8. Nice headtube angles with 150mm fork. Cons: 1. Tune for Monarch RT3 (ML). I am 6' 2" at 200 lbs riding an XL frame. I am 260 psi at 28% sag. Max psi is 275. I can bottom out the suspension easily. About the packaging: 1, Excellent job-no scratches, dents or dings. 29 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by so far so good initial rides on this are showing it to be a GOOD frame for me, pleased with this, Am waiting for a few dedicated components to finish the build but impressed so far. not the lightest, but it doesnt try to be, its solid and confidence inspiring, cant wait to get it out for a whole day 09 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very capable frame Got this with 40% off. Worth every penny! one thing, the cable guides are screwed on aluminium peices and they screw into pre drilled holes in the frame. one of thes holes was cross threaded on my recieving the frame, and i have no idea how, so when i screwed the cable guide in, it destroyed the thread in the frame rendering that cable guide position useless. all the others were fine though so i presume it is a rare occurance. 09 January 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid AM Bike Bought this frame to replace a kona frame I broke. The TRs frame is solidly built with a nice long top tube if your tall. Im 6'2" and ride an XL which is the right size. The RS Monarch on the back is a great shock, keeps the rear wheel planted with no bobbing at all that I've noticed. Its not the lightest bike you'll find but if you want a solid weekend bike to have fun on with a slack head angle look no further. Definitely a good buy and well worth the price they've got it on this web site for 05 January 2014

Answer:
You need to adjust the air pressure in the shock to achieve the correct 'sag' for your weight. On the Mega about 30% is recommended. Below is a video which demonstrates the best way to set up your sag.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHtV...

The remaining settings on your shock should be adjusted after. Rebound is rider preference. I would always suggest that you set your rebound to the slowest setting and then add about 4 clicks. This is generally a good starting point.

Answer:
The simple way to set the Rear shock up is to do a Sag test,
Move the o ring on the shock up to the body, sit on bike with usual ride gear (for weight purposes) with shock unlocked ie for decent.
Get off bike and check the amount of travel used by your weight alone= sag amount
This is "usually" 20% of the total travel, if the o ring has moved more, put some air in, if less release some.
NOW,,,,,personally I choose my sag at around 15% but the bike may skip around a bit more so its all about preferance

Answer:
Start at 25% sag adjust as per your preferences. This frame is dead simple & effective. So no need for fussy set ups as required by more complex twin link frames. They may work better but WILL require lots more set up and therefore knowledge.
This is one of the reasons for us normal real world riders makes this frame ACE!

Frame, seat post clamp (not a QR, perfect for a dropper, if you dont use a dropper a 34.9 QR clamp such as a hope is perfect.
Cable guides, clips and screws.
Direct mount front mech hanger inc fixings to frame and bolt to mech.
142 x 12mm rear axle (maxle) you need to buy spacers which are wheel specific not frame specific. I use Hope pro 3 hubs which are 12mm ready and just needed the spacers

Answer:
The FSA Orbit MX headset is known as a Traditional Headset (34mm Outer Diameter) where as the Mega required a Semi-Integrated (44mm Outer Diameter) headset.

For use with a Straight 1 1/8" Fork Steerer the suggested headset below would be ideal.

Answer:
Direct mount M785 allows you to connect from below or above. Best to connect from above as the frame DOES NOT have under shell cable guide (which in any case gets damaged and dirty and then does not work properly.

The cable guides on the frame make it easy to make a really neat and tidy cable install of both brakes & shifters...

No. I purchased XT 2 x 10 crank set which came with a new BB. Its a 73mm shell so you only need one of the supplied 2.5mm spacers. I did find I needed a good dolop of greese on the threads because it is new and the threads are deep so that in itself bods well for durability
