Currently unavailable

We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

The new Mega TR offers the same surefooted handling and confidence-inspiring ride of the Mega AM in a lighter, shorter-travel package that’s ready for the ups as well as the downs.

Designed for trail centre fun, all-day mountain adventure and rollercoaster singletrack thrills, the Mega TR offers 130mm of rear bounce making it the perfect option for ‘one-bike’ riders who like to tackle the gnar but want a rig they can pedal all day.

Featuring a lighter custom-hydroformed tubeset than the AM to shave off some weight; the Mega TR features lightweight RockShox air suspension front and rear, full SRAM transmission, Avid braking and quality Nukeproof finishing kit.

Custom hydroformed frame with Erosion Linkage suspension

The Mega TR frameset is engineered from custom hydroformed double-welded T6 6061 aluminium, with 130mm of rear travel via our Nukeproof progressive ‘Erosion’ linkage suspension action.

Oversize main bearing pivots are contained in a bespoke CNC-machined Bottom Bracket assembly to ensure alignment, durability and precision, while the chainstay design gives clearance for a front derailleur and compatibility with all leading models of ISCG - mounted chain retention systems.

Geometry is based around a slack 66deg head angle and steep 75deg seat angle, with a long wheelbase keeping the centre of gravity low for optimum stability at speed.

Trail bike build

We’ve gone for a trail bike build with the Nukeproof Mega TR but it’s our definition of trail bike – reduced weight where possible while still up for the rough and tumble and eager to be let off the leash.

That means lightweight and adjustable air suspension – a Rockshox Monarch RT3 shock out back and RockShox Revelation RL Solo Air forks – but it also means big-hit burl where it counts. Those forks offer a full 150mm of rock-munching travel, with a 15mm Maxle Lite thru-axle for optimum front-end stiffness and pinpoint tracking through the rough, while rather than a 2x10 or XC triple we’ve given the Mega TR a Truvativ Descendent 1.1 single-ring crankset and chainguide combo, meaning you’ll have no excuse not to pin it when gravity kicks in.

The rest of the transmission comes courtesy of a SRAM X7/X9 mix, with Avid Elixir 5 hydraulic brakes taking care of the stopping side of things.

We’ve built the Mega TR with a focus on downhill capability – because that’s the kind of riders we are – but it’s versatile enough for you to switch things up when the occasion demands.

Nukeproof Finishing Kit

Finishing kit on the Nukeproof Mega TR comes courtesy of our own tried and tested Warhead series of components. Our Nukeproof Generator TR wheelset sheds yet more weight from our classic DH hoops but retains the durability for the gnarl, while Maxxis High Roller 2.35” tyres are a no-brainer for a push-hard trail bike.

Our Warhead headset, stem and 760mm riser bars combined with Element lock-on grips make a fuss-free cockpit setup, while our Nukeproof Trail Mega saddle is a comfortable perch for short-blast racing or the longest of big-country days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the probably the best bike I have ever bought This bike is AWESOME! If you are hesitating about buying this then STOP CLICK THAT BUY BUTTON NOW! I bought this bike in black wasn't sure which color I preferred more but i am glad that I chose black as it is SO GOOD it looks so much better in when you see it right in front of you. I love the amount of travel on this bike it is so plush and it is a joy to just blast down the hill and let the suspension absorb the terrain, buy it and you will realize the awesomeness of this bike. also you have the ability to upgrade the seat post to a rock shox reverb stealth. 11 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Yep, a little beauty. Whoo hoo, thanks guy's I love it. Requires a few bits of fine tuning but a great package, especially over here in oz. I even took it out in the rain for a test run, at midnight \. I'll be in touch. P.S. Sorry about the Eddy Merxx Mobile, I'm sorry something played up with the transfer of money, I will run the nukeproof beast in and surely be ready for the road session soon. 28 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great we bike Got this bike a couple of months ago so it has gave me a good time to ride it to see how i felt about it. First of all i would like to say that the bike handles like a dream. Its so easy to get air and it doesn't like to touching the ground to much. I find this bike easier to bunny hop than my BMX! I go for about 10-15% sag and it feels great and real smooth down any tracks you throw at it, Jumps and drops are no issue either I've done a few 5ft drops and it eats them up no bother so don't be afraid to push it. Its obviously not as smooth as the DH bike but it isn't to far away if you ride it correctly. The only thing is if your doing some techy riding you can feel a bit of fork flex but nothing to worry about. If your looking a bike that you can do anything on and ride every day no matter what your discipline is. This is the bike for you!!! 17 February 2014

Answer:
You can find our sizing guide by following the '>SIZE CHART' link, just to the right of the listed price.
If the theoretical figure lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb should apply:
- for racing/athletic riding, take the smaller frame size,
- for touring-based riding, take the larger frame size.

The TR Frame is designed to take a High Direct mount front derailleur; to run a double crank you could use something such as the X7 linked below

Of course you can, Just order the appropriate parts drive it over to Paulie in Australia and we will put it together.

You can do most things with this bike mate.

You study the bike hard enough and it becomes waterproof.

Seat post length

Can you tell me what length the seat-post is on the Small model please? (Looking at what length dropper post would suit the bike, massive oversight on Nukeproofs part!!)
