For ultimate weather protection without performance compromise the oneten Pioggia shell is a super light and packable weatherproof cycle jacket.
There’s no such thing as bad weather, goes the old saying – only the wrong clothes.
If you’re the kind of rider that stays in the saddle no matter what the elements throw your way, then the Pioggia shell is just what you need to keep on pedalling.
A super light and packable weatherproof jacket that maintains breathability and performance even when working hard, the Pioggia shell is the latest addition to the oneten stable of technical cycle clothing.
Performance under pressure
Designed to keep you dry and comfortable right through the worst of weather conditions, the Pioggia shell features:
Waterproof and windproof eVent main body fabric for ultimate weather protection, with a superlight polyamide shell;
Ultra-breathable PTFE membrane to ensure optimum moisture management, preventing sweat build-up next to the skin;
Waterproof RiRi front zipper, meaning no need for additional storm flaps;
Fold-down tail for extra protection from road spray.
Cut for comfort
Protection from the elements need not mean compromise on fit and performance. Like all oneten technical garments the Pioggia shell is cut with the specifics of cycling in mind, meaning a fit tailored to the on-bike torso position.
We’ve also added stretch mesh side panels for improved flexibility and fit; a fold-down tail secured by lightweight press studs to keep it out of the way when not needed; and a three-position adjustable collar to accommodate different rider shapes or layered clothing configurations.
On the practical side of things, the Pioggia shell also features minimal seaming and direct-print internal labels to prevent chafing and irritation, a custom textured zip pull for ease of use with gloved hands and custom reflective tabs for excellent low-light visibility.
Who is it for?
Super light and packable for easy storage in a jersey pocket or commuter’s pannier, the oneten Pioggia shell will appeal to any rider whose time on the bike takes him or her through cold and wet conditions – whether on a punishing training ride, a long day in the hills or a rain-sodden city commute.
Worn with the oneten Intimo base layer and a suitable mid-layer such as the Primavera long-sleeve jersey, the Pioggia shell will keep you riding through the worst of weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Excellent light weight w'proof jacket
I have been looking for a good packable waterproof jacket for ages. I had been considering Sportful or Castelli jackets but then decided on this after the Cycling Plus 5 star review - and its made in the UK. I was concerned that it might be too dark, however, the high viz panels are excellent. Sizing is very UK orientated. I take a Large in Italian made stuff but this is definitely a Medium for me. The sleeves feel very long but you wear the cuffs over your gloves and this allows the excellent hi-viz bands to be clearly visible - good for hand signals.
Wore it today in heavy rain and it worked a treat. Slightly clammy inside when I got home but I think I had slightly too many layers on underneath. Highly recommended.

There is no doubt that this garment is made from quality material. Not managed o use it in a downpour yet but it certainly stops the chill and to some degree does seem to breath a little.
There are some faults though. I am six foot four, the XL was just a little too small round the front and while the XXL is better it is still a little short, this shouldn't matter too much when in the riding position, but I do find myself tugging it down at the front. Having to go for the bigger size the arm length is good for a lanky bloke like me but the jacket is a little baggy. Doesn't really bother me too much but the purist will find this irritating.
The poppers round the neck are totally pointless they just aren't strong enough to keep the collar tight round the neck and as soon as you put a little pressure on they pop open so you are still going to get wet down the neck.
The quality and the lightness are the big strong points and they probably make it almost worth the price!

Worthy C+ road test winner. A bit like the Gore Oxygen rain jacket but thinner. Unusually for products with an Italian name, the sizing is as per the CRC chart. Even with Gore etc I am usually between L and XL. In this case the L was plenty big enough. The fit is not too baggy but not at all tight. Sleeves are longish with elasticated high vis cuffs. It is short at the front with a "tail" that can be lengthened by undoing two press studs. Folds into a back pocket and kept me dry in a heavy shower. Best of all is the breathablity, even fairly hard riding didnt result in a wet base layer.
