Rated 3 out of 5 by good price average quality for good price works ok no problems with it so far don't know how will it work against thief but looks really tough and the paddlock is thick so if u wanna secure your bike for a minute when going to shop etc that is enough 12 November 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not quite as good as I expected for the money The loop isn't 15mm in diameter as described. Having measured this with a vernier caliper I can confirm its exactly 12.1mm with probably 3mm being the laminated cover. Also the blue collar on the shackle that rotates to cover/uncover the key hole isn't flush with the black sections of the locking pin on the top left and bottom right hand side which for a new lock costing £18.99 simply isn't good enough. 06 September 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by mixed feelings bought one of them, recommended to a friend as i was sure its well made. He just rand me today and told someone stole his bike, with one cut. Now i don`t know if i should buy an extra one lock. 02 March 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by unimpressed got this lock for my bike to replace old one... seriously not impressed... worked perfectly fine for first four uses... and now it wont unlock at all, which has given me a serious problem as its locked on my bike... Going to have to cut through it to free... waste of money. 13 December 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by hard to use Bought this as a back up lock. I find it a little hard to use, as it coils up pretty tight, and you have to 'unloop' it before you use it. I sometimes have to tap the lock to open the jaws on the mechanism, as they are not spring loaded, and you cant push the 'U' into the shackle.Seems decent quality, but wouldnt buy another. I dont have a lot of faith in these type of wire locks, as I have cut through one with a pair of electrical cable cutters (my friend lost the keys for his lock), and recently had to cut through my girlfriends Halfords lock with a pair of bolt cutters when the mechanism broke. On both occasions, it took a lot longer to find my tools, than to cut through the wire! 07 June 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looks Great, Performs Poorly I bought this Lock last summer to protect my cheapish road bike. After being intially impressed with the lock, i decided to out it on my Dh bike at Uni. Having been at Uni for 4 months, with my bike locked to a bike rack. I go out to put a new rear mech on, to find my bike missing and the cable sliced right through. The loops still locked into the U. The cable had been through both wheels and the frame, so once the cable had been cut, the bike had been easily stolen. This lock will be great for short periods, or daytime use. But clearly if there is a possibility good cable cutters could be used on it, i would not recommend it. 01 February 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the best to secure your bike just for the wheels. Wire is long enough to go around the bike, but it won't take so long to cut it with a bolt cutter. The body of the lock is not strong enough. I wouldn't recommend this for London but good price for wire and lock. 09 April 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Solid Lock This loop lock has a nice weight to it, a good solid feel and construction. The mini-d lock is as good as you can expect for under £20. Its a decent size and again has solid feel to it. The plastic casing feels a little flimsy but unless you buy top quality stuff its all gonna be the same. The keys look a little simple, almost like car keys with a very simple cut. But im sure it'll do its job. If you've got yourself a nice bike then this is something you want to add to your collection, its a bit weighty but its a good lock. It’s definitely a good supplement to your main lock, i've got this with a magnum u-lock (£1000 anti-theft guarantee) so they make a good combination. If this was my sole lock i'd probably want to replace the mini-d. All in all a good solid loop lock, i won’t want to test it but im sure it'll prove a handy deterrent. Which is all we can hope for sadly… 24 March 2010
