This small chain tool goes anywhere and actually performs like a shop quality tool. The fine thread, special "V"-shaped handle, and super strong replaceable pin make chain removal and installation a breeze.
The CT-5 works on any derailleur chain (including Hyperglide®) and has a "shelf" for loosening tight links.
At only 77 grams, it's the perfect take-along chain tool.
Works great on 9 and 10-speed chains as well.

I carry one of these in my seat pack whenever i go out for a ride because it's so compact and i've used it several times to get my chain sorted out and most importantly get me home. It's no fun being miles from home with no way of fixing your chain when it lets you down. This isn't a tool for the workshop but as a tool to carry in case of emergency it's just the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 Great for easy jobs.
Not a bad tool for easy jobs, if you're trying to split an awkward singlespeed chain you'll just bend the pin though.
If it's a stubborn chain, when you're winding the pin back out, it'll unthread itself. Which is another pain.

disassembled the chain for at least 10 times now. Works great. If you want more comportability and grip when working and you intend to use it in the workshop - buy something bigger - this one is compact version to take on the rides.

Just used this tool to fit a new Shimano IG70 chain to my Giant road bike, it pushed the pin out no problem to shorten the chain and then pushed in the Shimano pin. Its small and light enough to carry with you but more than able to do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Good tool
Bought this to replace a ToPeak chain tool which had buckled on pin removal. This is a much better tool, the low gearing means that pin removal is more controlled and requires less force. Have just replaced a chain on my road bike with it (requiring to split the old chain and take out spare links on the new chain). All this was done very easily. A good tool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous Having been let down by a couple of cheap chain tools in the past I saw the sense in investing in a better quality one. So £13 later I find myself with another chain tool in 3 pieces after it's second use. Firstly one of the locating lugs broke off but left just enough to carry on using it (or so I thought) then he pin snapped off. Same cheap rubbish but with "Park" stamped on it and a £10 premium.
