Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous good but not 8mm hex soft
8mm hex is a bit soft: I have had this tool for about a year and removed several cranks with ease; I was very happy with it. I then went to help my neighbour remove his cranks to measure his bottom bracket for replacement. It had probably been on for 10 years and I struggled to budge the hex bolt on the drive side, it gave slightly and I noticed the 8mm hex had rounded on the tool and in the bolt. I had only used hand pressure but it was considerable. I learn't a lesson to use proper tools for stubborn removal and not assume tools like this are as well made as they seem. I may still buy another having learnt my lesson as it was a convenient and easy to use tool.

Broke my original crank remover trying to remove a stubborn crank. This tool smoothly and easily pulled the crank off. Long handle for leverage and two inserts. I wish I had bought one years to save all those bike workshop bills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Perfect tool for octalink and tapered cranks
The tool itself just does what other crank removers do as well: it removes cranks. But it is very handy when you have octalink cranks as well as tapered cranks, don't want to buy 2 tools for this, and don't want to lose the parts.
The Pedros tool comes with 2 fixtures, 1 for each system. In contrast to other tools of that kind, however, it's very easy to change the fixtures. The best thing is, that you can slot the unused fixture securely onto the handle (there's an integrated clamp). This way, you don't lose it, and never have to go looking for it in your tool box.
