Pedro's natural wax dry lubricant designed for dry to mixed conditions. Pedro's Ice Wax 2.0 has been engineered with advanced chemistry to provide a wet application that uses a unique detergent carrier to help push contaminants from the chain. Once dry, the wax forms a dry coating on the surfaces of the chain which provides excellent lubrication, efficiency, and wear protection. Though best in dry conditions the coating of wax also repels water from puddles or stream crossings. As an added bonus, as Ice Wax 2.0 slowly wears off over time, any contamination on the chain is removed with the wax leaving a cleaner chain.
Ice Wax 2.0 is Pedro's simplest lubrication option with low maintenance due to the self cleaning nature. This premium lubricant earns it price by requiring less frequent degreasing and less time scrubbing your chain. The key to getting peak performance out of Pedro's Ice Wax 2.0 is allowing the lubricant to dry or "set up" on the chain. After applying Ice Wax 2.0 to the chain, cycle the drivetrain to evenly coat all surfaces. Then allow 1 hour of more for the lubricant to dry before riding. We suggest applying the night before a ride for the absolute best performance.
Detergent carrier pushes out dirt & grime during application
Wax base dries to protective barrier coat for long-lasting performance
Biodegradable, self-cleaning wax properties requires less degreasing
Always shake well before use.
Apply lubricant to rollers of the chain while backpedaling drivetrain.
For best performance, wait at least 1 hour.
Before riding use a rag to wipe off all excess lubricant from outside surfaces of chain.

Denser than normal dry chain lube, it's pretty good getting into nooks where a grease gun can´t reach. Used it to clean some inadvertently exposed bearings - apply, rotate, rinse all the muck coming off and repeat. Haven't tried it on chains yet, not much rain to speak of in Spain yet, but I recommend it for what it is, a dense lubricant that can be used on other things but chains.

WAX is the new wet lube.
I have used this lube in a all conditions (MTB) and even for a 24 hour race. It never let me down smooth shifting all around!!

It recommends adding to the rollers and this it about all you can practically do. However this leaves the remainder of the chain unprotected. The problem with this is after the slightest bit of rain the chain will start to rust.

Have used this for about 7 years now and this is wonderful chain lube, higher end product. But as many higher end products it is targeted for some certain conditions and has limitations. I see many complaints from people who use Ice Wax as "lube and forget" solution for any kind of weather and expecting it to last for 1000 miles of continuous thunderstorm. No chance, sorry. Ice Wax is a sort of a purpose 'race lube' for dry conditions. When it's wet, you better try Syn Lube, which in turn will easily gather all the dust on the trail when it's dry. And even when used properly Ice Wax lasts only for 200-300 kms.
When used properly Ice Wax keeps chain clean and indeed lowers friction to advertised 'ice'. It also can be used to clean the chain as it effectively repels all the grime during application and work in. This is expensive solution, though. Just don't expect miracles. This is light lube, which just cannot be tenacious enough compared with thicker viscous synthetic sorts. When struck by heavy rain don't forget to lube the chain again. When you're expecting rain prepare your chain using some sort of wet synthetic lube. Don't forget to remove it when riding dry - or it will collect dust onto chain.

Had the 120ml bottle at first and seemed fair as lubes go, penetrated the links well and even lasted a couple of rides in wet weather. But I soon ran out, so to save some bucks I got the 1ltr bottle. This seemed to be a different lube, thicker and less willing to penetrate the chain links. Then I went out in a 'Cats & Dogs' rain storm in the autumn and this stuff was running off the rear mech in a stream of grey mush. When home it took me an age to get my bike clean of the grey mush, but the chain only needed a wipe and dry as there was no Ice wax to be seen on it!! Was not happy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous I have been using the smaller volumes and highly rate this product. Keeps the drive train nice and clean. However....this time around I bought the 1L bottle. Good value but far more viscous than the smaller volumes, almost a paste. Not sure if its actually penetarting the links. Stick to the smaller bottles.

I saw this, thought I'd give it a chance, but I'm afraid this is one product that I won't be buying again.
It's not really like wax, more like a smooth paste that sits 'on' the chain rather than penetrating it. Too much of it fell off rather than coating the chain too (inconsistent delivery from the nozzle, and no, it's not just my 'squeezing technique'!)
I suspect this 'wax' has helped prolong the gear-train, but no more than any other lubricant. Indeed now, my shifting less-than-ideal.
I'll be going back to the likes of White Lightning wax and Rock Oil.
