A short sleeve jacket with shoulder-cups, breast plates and a back protector. One of few certified at Level 2 (“High performance”) of the motor cycle standard EN 1621-2. The new back-protector-concept is made of the new Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough (VPD) that gives a high level of protection as well as a unique capability to adapt its shape to your body. The ambition has been to support mobility and comfort, incorporating the highest possible level of spinal and torso protection.
Technical features: • Breathable mesh for ventilation • Ventilated polypropylene shoulder protection • Ventilated polypropylene breast plate • Removable and flexible waistband • Patent-pending snap-on Cervical and Coccyx in sandwich-moulded and lined polyethylene.
Our VPD back protector outperform the EN 1621-2 standard Level 1 (18kN) reaching the higher Level 2 requirements (9kN). Still many CE approved protection systems have a relatively static impact absorption curve and are constructed to just pass the specific CE-Norm test. This means that low energy impacts are transferred almost directly to the body. Our VPD back protector does not only exceed the required shock absorbance CE-values, it also releases the energy gradually so the spine will not be exposed to any force peaks.
• Extra layer of high density Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough (VPD)in spinal area for maximum protection • Low density VPD for flexibility • Ventilation holes

I bought this suit as, having injured my shoulders in a few crashes, I wanted some serious shoulder protection. This POC suit is expensive but it paid for itself and more last week when I had a big stack and my right shoulder took most of the impact. The shoulder pad did not move in the crash and absorbed much of the fall. At A&E the medics suspected a broken collarbone or ruined ligaments, but I got away with just severe bruising. That means some discomfort and a couple of weeks off the bike, rather than a broken bone, time off work and no riding for a couple of months. Downsides to the suit are that the back plate, made of VPD material, does not always warm up and become flexible in the cold English weather and it moves within its compartment in the jacket, so hence a 4 rating and hopefully POC will fix this in later versions. But brilliant shoulder protection, thanks POC.

I have the 2012 version and apart from a few minor differences no change. I originally bought this due to the the reviews and I have not been disappointed, this had stood up to some massive falls and hits at BDS and Pearce! Yes I have had some scrapes still on my back but nothing is perfect. I have wrapped myself round a tree and this saved me!! The only reason why it is only 4* is that you would have to 'adjust' it to fit a neck brace, especially on the rear. For those that say that this is OK with a Leatt you need to look again since unless you 'size-up' on the brace it rides up and does not give you the protection that it is designed for. Over all a cracking piece of kit that I would recommend, price should be no option over personal safety especially the spine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous POC VPD Tee
I have owned the POC VPD Tee for 2 years and it is without doubt the most comfortable body protector and worth the money. It has definately saved my bacon on a few occasisons, its lightweight and easy to clean. Only drw back is that it does not incorporate elbow guards, although some may take this as a positive

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous Comfortable and light but the vest is not hard wearing enoug
I ohave this tee for about a year now. Overall It is a big improvement on my previous pressure suit in which I used to cook in summer. Its great, light and cool however the vest that the amour is mounted in has ripped along the stitching in several places and is definitely not tough enough for the sport. Considering the price I think this is disappointing.

That POC Protection Tee will not have upper spine protection that you can remove to allow a comfortable and suitable fit with a neck brace. Riders would find that the “Thoracic” section that sits down the rear of back braces could be uncomfortable with a full length spine protector.
