Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent for 26" wheels but don't buy for 29ers. This stand fits my Stumpjumper FSR Comp (26" wheels) perfectly. However it is not suitable for 29" wheels, I have the stand on a Cube Access WLS and it JUST holds the bike up, due to the larger circumference of the wheels the holding point is higher up from the ground and this stand stuggles to reach it. 13 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stable bike stand that doesn't get in the way. High quality bike stand that holds stable. Fits my two hard tail bikes better than than my Iron Horse Sunday downhill bike. 09 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Does what its suppose to do Important, this one doesn't work with 29er's. Good for 26 and 650b. But Pro as a 29er version also. It hold your bike up and gives with a pro bikeshop presentation look. I have found that it was working best with front wheel. Nice rubber cushioning to protect your bike. My 29er version is black. 10 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stand We have two of these. Needs just a bit care with disc brakes but works. Sturdy, well finished. No faults at all. 24 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great! Works as advertised. I'm able to keep my bike in the living room without leaning it up against the bookcase. My wife approves. 17 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice bike stand So good I bought five. Great for road bikes and MTB, not so good for kids bikes. 06 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Everything you could want in a bike stand. Pure great. It's amazing for being on show and photos 23 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Real good Stand Easy to handle, stable, good looking, fits perfect 22 July 2014

Answer:
As this stand does not engage with the tyre itself (connects with axle between the hub and dropout) this setup will be fine to use with this stand.

Answer:
No limit on tyre diameter, but my 29er doesn't really sit in guides, but more rests against it. Will be fine if you have loads of space, but there are other options out there that fit any size, albeit more expensive.

Answer:
Yep. Works better on the front wheel. My Mavic wheel-set has too much room for a stable fit.

Answer:
These stands are designed for use with wheel sizes from 20" up to 29", and may be ok for your 17" as well. The best way to determine a fit will be to either contact the manufacturer, or buying the stand to try. You can always return the stand to us for refund if it is not compatible with your bike.
