Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous good product but not much to it.
I bought an 83mm crankset to fit in my current 73mm bottom bracket. For anyone else wanting to know, this kit comprises of the central plastic section of a 73mm bb and then 3 5mm spacers with an internal diameter of 25mm. The saint crankset axle is 24mm so they slide on very loosely.
If you already have the bottom bracket it would be cheaper to nip to local aluminium fabricators and pick up some 25mm spacers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous awesome, underrated
this thing is awesome. you can actually make the same spacers from cut fork steerer tube scrap as the dimensions are almost identical. but joking aside this really helps ANY 150 mm wide rear end chainline. on my Banshee Scythe the chain is eating the bashring when using a normal 68/ 73mm crankset and you can do nothing about it. this makes a propper job, you have to run allot of washers behind the boomerang of your chainguide to work though, which looks a bit dodgy. NOT recommended for taco style systems!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous essential item for a demo8
This is essential if you want to run long axle Saint cranks on a Demo8. And you need to run the longer axle if you are going to fit a big middle ring and bashring for DH riding. Works fine - the machined bearing-fitting part of the axle is wide enough to extend fully inside the bearings (if you were worrying about that...)

This is an awesome piece of kit.
It basically converts a 68 or 73mm shell BB to an 83mm shell. It works a treat on my Santa Cruz VPFRee - I had awful chainline originally cos of the spacing on the rear wheel axle - the VPFree has a 150mm back end meaning shifting performance was pretty crap considering the cost of this frame.
I rang Silverfish who import Race Face into the UK and they told me about this - it's basically a spacer kit that makes the BB shell bigger. You then have to buy a set of cranks in an 83mm shell version but the shifting is now awesome.

I have ordered some Raceface atlas cranks which are 83mm and come with a new bb. My bike frame has a 73mm bb shell. Do I need an adapter kit if a new bb is coming with the cranks, will I even be able to use the new bb?
