Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 121 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product chain has never come off This item is one top quality peace of kit I've had is on my bike for the last six months or so the chain has never can off the sprocket drives me like a dream 20 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome - buy it. It's a no brainer, Great product, great price and does what it should. Clears muck well too. I'll probably be buying a 30 or 32 when I head up the mountains. 34 is fine for most of the Surrey Hills. You'll need to match up the chainring nuts and have a special chainring nut spanner etc 07 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by ottimo sotto tutti i punti di vista funzionamento impeccabile con e senza guidacatena !! 06 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is agreat bit of kit. This is a excellent bit of kit,has made riding much easier.Had mine for 2 mths now and not dropped chain yet. I use a 12t-36t cassette and uphills are now a breeze. If you havn't got one yet your definatly missing out. Highly recommend this chainring and it look great too. 29 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by quality kit Great ring. No dropped chains dropped so far. My original bolts aren't long enough and cannot find any longer ones. As. Hainring is so thick I've screwed original ones in. Loctited bolts and so far so good. Like to get some longer ones though 29 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top quality chainring. Big weight drop and easy shifting without spending lots. Fitted the Race Race NW a few months ago, should have done it a year ago. Loved idea of 1x but didn't want to spend money required for full 1x groupo. Have never dropped chain with SRAM Type2 X9 and KMC X10SL chain. I'm rough on gear due to being a muppet skills wise in the bush and really bang bike around. I'd suggest latest review saying chain dropped every ride is setup/equipment issue. Its definitely not due to this NW ring. FYI, dropped 340grams off bike by removal of double chainrings, front mech and shifter. 27 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The go to for single rings! Bought this to replace the 3x setup on my trail bike. The narrow wide configuration coupled with a clutch style rear derailer has kept my chain in place and slap free on even the gnarliest of trails! 23 September 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Looks great, doesn't work properly. Looks cool and very well made, however it does no stop the chain from dropping. I have a Sram X9 clutch mech and still drop my chain every ride. Buy an ordinary chainring and save the money for a chain guide. 21 September 2014

Answer:
Yes it should work fine, but if you go ahead with your suggestion also consider that you will almost certainly need to shorten your chain and possibly change your chain ring bolts to single-ring specific bolts if your existing bolts are too long.

Answer:
If both chainrings are mounted with the same bolt then you'll need new ones. If not you can use the ones for your largest ring.

Answer:
Single-ring set-ups tend to use shorter chain ring bolts, so it may be necessary to replace your existing bolts with some single-ring specific bolts. Try your existing bolts first though - if they don't catch on anything and they're still in good condition then there's no issue.

Answer:
I've just installed a 30t on a slx m675 double, used the 8.5mm bolts that were used on the existing small ring, this leaves 1.3mm of thread, which is about 1.5 to 2 threads exposed on the chainring. This set up appears to be adequate.

Hello!
I know it says it is made for 9-10 speed systems, but I was wondering if that means it's backwards compatible with, say, an 8 speed cassette/derailer/chain.

I put a FSA Giamondi single speed crankset on my bike and the 48t ring is a bit too big so I'm considering changing it.
If this chainring fits an 8 speed setup and will help prevent derailing (which I've been experiencing while coasting), I'll get one.

Answer:
It is OK for any cogs in the back.
And yes, it grips the chain nicely, you wont loose it.
So nice that its OK for XC, but something harder may cause chainloss.
It also depends on the cassette, I have ZEE crankset + SAINT chainguide and chain sliped once, but from the cassette.
I wasnt even doing much, just riding.
But it never slipped during the races
I have 9spd shimano cassette + SRAM x5 derauler.
If you have giamondi so its road bike, should fit fine and reduce chainloss drammatically, but choose the proper version with five holes.

Answer:
Can't see any reason why it wouldn't mate to an older rear cassette, but I don't think I would run it without a clutch rear mech or front chain guide, (either or) possibly be wasting your hard earned if you just use it on its own. Hope this helps.

If your cranks use one bolt to hold both the outer and midle chainring you should buy standard chainring bolts to mount the Narrow Wide chainring. If each chainring is mounted with its own bolts then you can just use the chainring bolts you have.

Raceface are not providing the shims with the new Narrow Wide chainrings. These will need to be purchased separately. Depending on your chainset you may not need the shims, there is a full guide of shims and chainset compatibility on the Raceface website.

Answer:
The 24/38 tooth variant of this crankset has a 104/64mm B.C.D. which is compatible with these chainrings.

Be aware that these chainrings are intended for Singlering useage and not with multiple chainrings running within the same drivetrain (ie. 1x10 would be a good setup to consider).

Answer:
In my SLX cransket which has a 104mm BCD as well I was able to use the chainring bolts that hold the small chainring to hold the narrow-wide ring. It would be best to buy the ring, try the chainring bolts you have and if they don't fit look for new ones. Also check the 30t compatibility chart published by Race Face which has information concerning chainring bolt length: http://www.raceface.com/comp/pdf/30T_NW_RING_HARDWARE_COMPATIBILITY_CHART.pdf
