Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 56 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm now a believer! Bought this as i wished to give the single ring bandwagon a go. Rode my usual spot, which is fast, steep and rough - not one dropped chain. Very impressed. Simple to fit and great quality. 07 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant Smoothest set up I've had in a long time with this! No slap and no dropping of the chain, this is perfect with the XT shadow + and is worth every penny! Also super light 05 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by No dropped chains yet.... Using a 32t with a Zee rear mech and i'm yet to drop a chain. The only thing i've dropped is some weight from my bike :-) Awsome piece of kit!! Get one! 03 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Todo correcto Todo correcto un plato espectacular , lo mejor para la transmisión 1x10. 01 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works reasonably well even without a clutch derailer I don't ride downhill, but a variety of trails, some of them quite rocky. I read that you need a clutch derailer for this to work, but I took a chance and got a 32T even though I had a long cage, non-clutch derailer. I am glad I did, it has worked almost flawlessly. I shortened my chain using the "biggest gear + 2 links" method. The chain has dropped about 3 times over 4 months riding every weekend. That is A LOT less than when I had a 2x10 with a normal front derailer. 28 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good! Great product! Ill prob buy another one with fewer teeth. Bought 34t think 32t will be just about right. Abit hard to climb with my AM with 34t. 24 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ditch your chain device. If you have a clutch mech and run single speed then ditch your chain device, I think they are now redundant, I don't know if thats more down to the mech or the ring, but it is a great combination. I've been running a narrow wide ring for 6 months (riding every weekend) and have not dropped the chain once, I ride a lot of bike parks and downhill stuff, as well as some long trail centre days out. I am racing the Gravity Enduro series this year and I'm so confident about these rings I won't be running a chain device. They seem to be on par with other aluminium rings I've used in terms of durability, and the chain retention doesn't appear to have deteriorated, I don't think the price is out of the way either. 18 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good quality, keeps the chain in place, looks nice Just picked up a 34t, anodised black narrow wide chain ring. It looks good and runs really smooth. So far so good, no chain drops at all. It runs really smooth too. I've got one paired with a Shimano ZEE rear derailleur. The clutch on the derailleur keeps the chain nice and tight whilst the narrow/wide chain ring keeps the chain in place up front. Would definitely recommend this to anyone running a 1 x setup. 09 March 2014

Answer:
Yes it should work fine, but if you go ahead with your suggestion also consider that you will almost certainly need to shorten your chain and possibly change your chain ring bolts to single-ring specific bolts if your existing bolts are too long.

Answer:
If both chainrings are mounted with the same bolt then you'll need new ones. If not you can use the ones for your largest ring.

Answer:
Single-ring set-ups tend to use shorter chain ring bolts, so it may be necessary to replace your existing bolts with some single-ring specific bolts. Try your existing bolts first though - if they don't catch on anything and they're still in good condition then there's no issue.

Answer:
Raceface are not providing the shims with the new Narrow Wide chainrings. These will need to be purchased separately. Depending on your chainset you may not need the shims, there is a full guide of shims and chainset compatibility on the Raceface website.

Answer:
This chainring is designed to be used on a 1x9, 1x10 or 1x11 setup.

It will fit to a Deore spider but to use with a 3x10 setup will not be possible as this chainring is not designed to shift.

The suggested bolts below will be fine for securing the chainring to the spider for a 1x10 setup.

Answer:
I've got this mounted on the 104BCD (middle ring) of my SLX crankset (originally 3x9), running fine here.

Can't speak to the bolts though, I sanded down my original ones to remove the big & small ring on the cranks before I got this & just use them now with no real problems (needed a bit of loctite to keep them tight). I have ordered some Raceface nuts & bolts to replace them, so I'll report back once I've given them a go.

Answer:
The 32T versions of this ring that CRC are selling all have a BCD of 104mm. Saint M820's are 104 BCD so yes, the ring will fit fine. Just make sure that the rest of your drivetrain is compatible with running a narrow/wide ring.

Answer:
A chainguide could help with the problem but in many ways defeats the purpose of using a 'Narrow/Wide' chainring in the first place.

The issue of chain drop is being caused by too much chain slack which is the result of the long cage derailleur. Ideally to solve the problem and obtain a very efficient drivetrain, it is advised to run either a Type 2 or Shadow+ short cage derailleur depending on the manufacturer of your shifters (be aware that mixing SRAM and Shimano Shifters/Derailleurs should be avoided).

Answer:
Are you dropping on inside or out? My set up is with 11-36T rear cassette and long cage derailleur and doesn't seem to drop. Too much chain length maybe? The short cage is more about smoother quicker shifts on a single front but I'm no expert and it may help. As for the chain guides, hope do an excellent outer one that only weighs about 30g and there are plent of inner ones to choose from that are both iscg and bb fitment
