Rated 2 out of 5 by Dont fit For people that have taken a bashguard off these bolts will not fit the single ring setup they leave the chainring with about 2mm of movement 14 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by It keeps my chainring in place. That's pretty much the only thing I ask from a simple product like this. It just works. 05 December 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by well made and stong Bought these for a single speed setup and they fit perfect. Well made and verry strong better that the alloy ones. Any one botherd about these being heavier than alloy are freaks un my opinion. 10 October 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mint! As with most RF kit thes are superb. Best CR bolts bar none. These will not stretch/snap/strip/sieze or rust. Get the standard steel ones unless you're racing XC in the Worlds/Olympics. Total shame they don't do a single ring version (though these work with Renthal rings due to Renthal's wierd spacing). 19 April 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rock solid! Standard bolts are bright plated steel, not grey as shown in the photo. Deus are black alloy. I ordered both to see what the difference is. I have a 2010 Deus chainset and use a Renthal SR4 38 ring in the outer position. I'm testing the standard bolts first as alloy bolts always seem noisy to me. The nut is slightly smaller than an I.D bolt that I used before. This is great as it let's me use a full size bolt on a single ring. Will see how it rides over the next few days. If all good then I'll test the black alloy bolts. Keep you posted... 23 June 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great! I bought the deus set of these and I was a bit wary at first but they seem to do the job really god though, still not sure what the differnce between the steel and the deus bolts are but the Deus are still very good. I would Highly recommend! 01 June 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Proppa man's chain ring bolts for those of us who can strip alloy bolts with our teeth. I bought the standard bolts and they are ace. If you think there's no difference between these and the OE bolts on your chainset, think again - these are the real deal. 22 February 2010

Answer:
it depends on the cranks, if the crank came with a three ring setup or two with a bash guard, the bolts will be too long due to the crank mounting point being thinned to allow for the chainring/bashring to fit. id recommend the brand-x bolts below, bit more £££ but worth it for it to work first time !

Answer:
For a Shimano 104 B.C.D. cranksets; the complete bolt is required; for 120 B.C.D. chainrings the chainring is threaded which is specific to SRAM and Truvativ and the sleeve section is not needed.
