Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 Good looking. HQ crankset. I wanted to buy a crankset for RACE FACE NARROW WIDE CHAINRING and in order to fit perfectly chose this one (as they come both from raceface and are same in size). NW chainring and Respond Crankset fit perfectly, you can see it on a picture. Paintjob on the rockring is not ideal... Removing preinstalled rings was really easy. Installing the BB was a regular task. They do not ship grease with this crank, only some grease could be found on the axle for installing the arm (no grease for BB or elsewhere) Installing the crankset was not so easy: Manual is not so definite about the amont of spacer rings and a torque force, so I spend some time searching the needed amount. There is only one big SCREW you need to properly position and secure your crankarms. You'll need a lot of force to tighten it down or disassemble it. I persanally prefer the installation of Shimano Zee: it has a nice screw to properly position the arms and 2 hex screws to seccure it on the axle. de/installation comes a lot easier. Never used it as 2 speed, so cant say anything about 2x. However this is the GREAT CRANKSET for this price. 27 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic product, looks and runs very nice!! Changed from a Shimano triple to this RaceFace double. The two rings seem to sit in the gaps of a triple, therefore it struggles a little on REALLY steep inclines due to not having a granny ring and lose a little bit of top end due to not having a big ring when riding along roads or really smooth canal towpaths etc. If you like more technical riding and don't need really high or really low gears this is fantastic with a very smooth bottom bracket. 02 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Looks, Great Price, Great Reviews I was going to get the Shimano SLX crankset until these listed for less money. They review in other places for the most part very well, just like the SLX. Strong and light weight. Bash guard and bottom bracket are included. Look good now, but others after use haven't fared so well. I'm not that extreme so maybe I'll get better results. The "Whitemare" colour - gotta love it or hate it. I love it. Had to get the matching handlebars! 15 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by super cheap price, not so cheap spec. Got this crank for peanuts with the 10% off to replace the RF Ride that came on my orange bike. I needed a new BB but after looking found this, (BB Comes with it!), proper quality crank and BB For not much more than the cost of a RF BB. Nice stiff build and has already taken some abuse and still running perfectly. Best bargain on CRC, Period. If you buy this, you won't be disappointed. Looks the balls in white too! 05 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by bargin budget crankset that does'nt skimp on Race Face quality for the spring clearence price that I paid this crank set is a BARGIN. Typical Race Face quality even for a budget set.Looks like it'll take a pounding an come back for more. I swaped out the double steel rings an fitted a Race Face narrow wide ring an saved a lot of wieght! 29 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome This is a brilliant piece of kit and cheap too. It looks sick on my white/red pearlescent frame too 26 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ottimo Ottimo prodotto! Nessun problema ! tutto ok consiglio 25 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cant Beat the price Very Solid product comes with BB aswell, Have rode it only for a month so far but feels great under my feet very solid 26 February 2014

Answer:
I prefer the socket version as opposed to the spanner type.
You can then use a torque wrench on them.
There are quite a few of them sold here, the 16 tooth external type.
I use Pedros, mainly because it takes a 1/2" drive socket wrench instead of a 3/8".

Answer:
As an 83mm bottom bracket shell frame requires a crankset with a longer spindle; this crankset is not compatible.

An option would be the crankarms alone which would then require a bottom bracket and a chainring.

Answer:
To maintain shifting efficiency, both chainrings would require to be changed. This is due to the variation in width between 9 and 10-speed chains.
