The top crown of the post came off for no apparent reason. Had to epoxy that back in.
Then had a fall and the two pieces of aluminium supports that enable you to adjust the seat angle bent badly. The worst part was that I was able to bend it straight again with my hands so I could continue riding.
Obviously my epoxy job failed after a short while.
I suppose you can break or damage any seat post from MTB. Thats just how things work, but this seatpost has too many parts that move when you adjust the saddle.
Alot of Diy while looking for a new seatpost and riding my current one to the death.

I fitted this to my Kona and initially it seemed great, l particularly liked the easy seat angle adjustment, and the fact that you can remove the seat without affecting it.
But the thing just creaks all the time! I tried tightening the bolts, oiling the linkages, refitting the saddle....everything.
When you put pressure on the back of the saddle it makes a cracking noise, then when you release the pressure it happens again.
I ended up taking it off and refitting the Kona one, and the creaking stopped. Proving it was not the saddle.
The worst part is, it is so light that it doesn't even make a good paper weight.
Anybody want a Race Face Turbine seat post, used twice?

Bought this in the sale along with the rest of the turbine range, very pleased with the seat post, high quality, brilliant clamp system and looks the part. Far superior to the factory standard, paper mache offering it replaced!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Great looking & performing post
I love this seatpost - the clamping system is so simple yet so clever, and won't wear/round out like a normal seatpost can if not tightened fully. Very handy for quick saddle swaps as the angle isn't affected by undoing the saddle rail bolt - just slot one saddle out and another in, and you're away.
Just please, please don't do what I did - if you have a steel frame, put anti seize paste on the post before you put it in!

Très facile de régler la hauteur de selle (la tige est graduée) ainsi que l'angle de la selle (le degré d'inclinaison est repéré sur la tige...)... très belle finition, l'insertion des rails de selle est aisée.
Compatible avec ma Brooks Swift.

I already own the Next SL version of this post, so at this crazy price for the Turbine, I didn't need much convincing. I love the different shades of shot peened and polished black anodising, very classy. The clamp system is great. It sort of looks bulky at times, but you soon get used to it. I love the fact I can remove the saddle to clean it without having to reset the tilt. Once this thing is tight there's no way it'll shift. I really like RaceFace for being innovative enough to try something different and stick at it. It's on a bike with a Thomson stem and this post really complements it.
